I have several entries in the @Lays#DoUsAFlavor contest for $1MIL but the Parmesan Pesto Bacon chips seem to be one of the more favorites of my entries. If you like the sound of it, can you give it a vote? (Contest ends tomorrow.) Thanks! <3
13-year old Chandra Starr has launched her online campaign and video for 'The Million Penny Project' to benefit our Growing Food Forward program. NBC News New York is coming tomorrow to start filming their "Power of One" segment for the NBC Nightly News about Chandra, her efforts, and her compelling reasons for doing so and next Tuesday, reporter Ann Curry will be here to complete the interview and filming. Please consider supporting Chandra's efforts to get fresh organic produce to those in need in our region, by donating and/or spreading the word. Thank you. <3
Cool collection of seeds that I'd love to grow in our Plant A Row To End Hunger gardens. (We grow organically and save seed but many of yours we don't have and would love!) Thanks for running this contest!
This is the blog I wrote that has just been published by The Huffington Post. I hope you'll take time to learn about what the GOP House leadership is demanding through the $40 BILLION they want to cut from the SNAP (food stamp) program in a vote they are taking soon! Please CALL or get in the face of your representative in Congress, ASAP! This is a matter of our national security. Thanks. <3
At the urgings of those few that know my circumstances, it is with great embarrassment and humility that I admit that I bought the ingredients for my original prize-winning recipe and testings using my SNAP (food stamp) benefits.
This is a story about 13-year old Chandra Starr, how she's raising $10,000 for my/our Growing Food Forward program and her compelling reasons for eating organic and for her goal of getting fresh organic produce to those in need and to our food pantries. <3
Holy COW! What a GREAT tool the Kitchen Gardeners International Garden Planner is and excellent instructional videos too! I can't believe how many features and components there are. Thanks much - this will help our program a lot!
I thought I'd be more active in this community but while distributing 1200 packets of organic herb & vegetable seeds to over 200 gardeners in 4 counties, my Plant A Row To End Hunger program ended up building and planting 35 gardens in 30 days on donated plots, (with the help of over 200 volunteers including autistic young adults and 162 summer school students). The gardeners donate their produce directly to the food pantries while the produce from the gardens we built are distributed directly to the doors of seniors, disabled and kids without school lunches in summer. This week we harvested over 200 lbs of food out of the gardens we built. I'm kinda proud of that so thought I'd share some photos with y'all. (The tomatoes and peppers are late since we had a cool, cloudy August but we should have 11 varieties of each this week so I'll share those photos when they ripen.) If you'd like to see photos of what all we've accomplished almost daily for the past 3 months, please visit our Facebook page. Any community can replicate what we've done. <3 https://www.facebook.com/PlantARowToEndHunger
