A brand still needs to stand for a singular compelling idea that is both meaningful to its target audience and different from its competitors. A brand still needs to have consistency in presentation and experience across different touch points of the brand.

Did you know that there is an international football tournament for the visually challenged? And that a team from India reached the semi-finals? Take a minute and read this wonderful article about the team. http://epaper.newindianexpress.com/165198/The-New-Indian-Express-Thiruvananthapuram/27092013#page/18/2

She was attacked at a rural police station, and her landmark case awakened India decades ago. But did she manage to love, have children, find happiness? New headlines about rape in my homeland set me on a journey to find her.

Between the December Delhi gang rape and the recent Mumbai gang rape, there has been more than one rape story EVERY DAY from some or other part of the country. Why doesn't anybody outrage or speak against those stories that don't make headlines? Are we unconsciously establishing criterion for the cases that deserve the government's attention? Only if the rape occurs in a metropolitan city? As if the rape is so much more horrifying if there are more than three people involved? Journalists across the country will go on public protests just because a woman from their profession was raped? So they won't protest if it was a woman in IT or Banking or a teacher or a housewife or a homeless beggar woman was raped? Every single rape, every single assault is a human being who's being stripped of his or her dignity. It's just pathetic that we remember to attack law makers and the government only when an incident gets so much media attention. And that includes me too. This is just a helpless rant anyway. For all the education and knowledge, values that we think we have, the ideals we think we believe in, we still are a bloody stupid helpless lot.

Its the rigid gender roles that are played out silently and strongly in our homes, schools, movies.. leads to kind of perverse indoctrination in all of us.. here are my thoughts.. http://silpapaul.blogspot.in/2012/12/what-is-wrong-with-us.html
