It protected a President in World War I, saw action at D-Day during World War II and is the last surviving U.S. battleship where such history is still afloat. Permission to come aboard, granted.

This is not a review, my goal before i die is to see the ship my father Steve Saldivar served on as a signalman during normandy ~dday. There is so much i want to write. My fathers wish is that 1 of his 7 children see thr USS Texas, my husband Mark and i were almost there til 3 years ago he developed adult epilepsy. God willing we will make it. Thank you for allowing me to post. Julia Saldivar Johnston. (i had to add review . Have not yet seen)

really enjoyed touring this old battle wagon, you could really sense some history on her, tour sight could use some foreign language signs requesting respect for the ship, to many people stepping and climbing on things they probably shouldn't, the Texas needs to be treated with a little more respect, it will be nice to visit again when they finish reconstruction and finish the new berthing location, staff could be friendlier, they seemed stressed with the crowd, 12 bucks admission not too bad but I would encourage everyone to contribute what you can so they can complete getting her refurbished and back to her former glory, a wonderful piece of history that must be preserved

I took my 14 yo son on his first USS Texas Hard Hat Tour. He had a blast. The volunteers that handle the tour are amazing. Especially the boiler room volunteer. He is a Pearl Harbor survivor. This was my third time on this tour and they have opened up more rooms for this tour. The Hard Hat Tour happens 3-4 times each year. Take the time. 100% of the money collected for this tour goes directly back into keeping this ship afloat. Go see this incredible piece of history!
