Life is not always what we expect but unconditional support brings hope for a better way. Much gratitude for the Hypersomnia Foundation for making this happen.  Raising awareness and improving understanding is what the HSF does - They are rockstars to the brain fogged and sleep drunk, advocates for IH, KLS, and N (with and without cataplaxy), and breathe hope into deflated dreams.

Finding doctors that understand is getting easier.

Have you seen our Health Care Provider Directory yet?  This resource was just released at the #HFConference2015 and allows people to search for Health Care Providers who treat people with #idiopathichypersomnia #narcolepsy and #KLS by state.  Check it out! http://www.hypersomniafoundation.org/healthcare-professionals/healthcare-provider-directory/

Money does indeed talk :D and in this case not only adds validity but also hope for better understanding for doctors/researchers and a better way for  people with primary hypersomnias.

As a mom, I have often been proud of my children but I have to admit, I never realized that someday I would feel such pride and be beaming from ear to ear for my doctor and his associates at Emory Sleep Center. I mean I really appreciate them but this is huge, adds validity and paves the way to greater understanding. Kudos indeed to Dr. Rye (my neurologist) and Dr. Trotti as well as that lab rat of a researcher, Dr. Jenkins (and no doubt some other associates, too). Hope is alive for people with primary hypersomnia everywhere ;) This is better than fantastic -- a Multi-Million-Dollar Grant from the National Institutes of Health. Can you see me doing my happy dance?!?  http://us3.campaign-archive2.com/?u=2635095b8af0b21724c402489&id=0023d9075b
