Your children are going to experience many ups and downs with regards to their friendships, they will find some and they will lose some.

Whatever be the case, social relationships will help them to mature into compassionate and caring young adults as long as you continue to provide the safety net of a loving family.

With the exams almost over, the children are just about sighing in relief after struggling with anxiety and stress related to exams. What follows is the dreaded report card, where all the anxiety resurfaces again.

I have been coaching some older teens whose parents had very adverse reactions to their report cards with the result that these teens are no longer interested in academics.

Please know that your child is as stressed as you are about his results and your reactions can either make or break him.

I am working on the presentation for tomorrow’s ONLINE WEBINAR (17th November at 11am UAE time  for all you lovely parents: #1 issue faced by the majority: How to stay Calm & Patient while Parenting your Child no matter what!

As a mother of pre-teen and teen I can tell you that it is no easy feat. Being a life coach I have got a bag of tools at my disposal that I do use, but hey then life gets in the way and I also lose it (as a parent)! However, what I have realized is that the more I use these tools the quicker I am able to manage those ‘volcanic’ moments and the easier it gets to keep them in check!

In coaching parents and children over the last several years many parents have broken down in front of me expressing their frustration at allowing their anger or impatience to rule them with unpleasant consequences.

When you lose your cool with your child more often than you maintain your cool, it can be the cause of a lot of unnecessary stress at home. Not only is the atmosphere tense but also whatever could be done easily (like household chores, homework etc) becomes a big drag.

As a parent you are consumed with guilt and frustration at your own lack of managing your emotions. It is like being in a dark suffocating room feeling more and more drawn into it and therefore I am bringing you this window of breath air.

Tomorrow Tuesday 17th November at 11am we will meet here: click the link at the photo below

It is very simple, sit with your laptop or mobile with an internet connection and a cup of tea/coffee, notebook and pen.

Log onto the above link on Tuesday 17th November at 11am to join the webinar. Simple and easy.

And if you have any burning questions (I will keep your name confidential) you want me to answer during the webinar hit reply here and send them to me NOW! email:sunainaathena@gmail.com

So excited to meet you tomorrow Tuesday.

A lot of parents have asked me how to communicate with their child so that he/she listens to them.
I have put together Athena’s 7-Day Challenge: How to get your child to LISTEN to you without being a NAG! http://bit.ly/athena7
Where I will be covering the exact steps for you to follow. This challenge is completely FREE and it will help you to improve the way you talk with your child and stop you feeling drained and exhausted from repeating yourself many times.

Outsourcing is when we cannot undertake a particular activity or skill due to lack of knowledge or time and then give it to someone else to do on your behalf. Parents like us have a lot of things we take care of and sometimes even though we have the skills we lack the patience or time to help our children.
Today's column in the Tabloid, Gulf News 19th Sept 2015, discusses how parental involvement is at the core of your child's success.
