Flat spin
It's essential to keep moving, learning and evolving for as long as you're here and this world keeps spinning.

Can this giant E Ink tablet make paper obsolete?

My clear answer is, no not at this price, but I like the technology.

The reMarkable device is essentially a giant E Ink tablet that aims to replace paper, working as a reading and note-taking device. In particular, the company is highlighting the "ultra high friction" materials used on the display to allow it to feel like writing on actual paper, alongside proprietary low-latency technology for quickly updating the screen (refresh rate is famous for being one of E Ink's biggest weaknesses).

The tablet is intentionally designed to be minimalist when it comes to features. The reMarkable can only display ebooks, PDFs, and documents, allowing you to annotate them, or serve as a blank notebook for writing or sketching.

Preorders are available for $379, a 47 percent discount off the intended retail price of $716 for the complete set of the $529 tablet, $79 pen, and $79 folio case. I remember the Skiff Reader back in 2010 to 2012 which also never made it.

Power Electronics Design Methods

I first saw this practically in the Orthodox Cherokee SMPS. This is where we differentiate from Engineered Products and just Mass Production without following standards. The Cherokee SMPS was a work of art, perfect in all respects.

The Standard Model
Definitely not something new, but always worth learning

The Standard Model explains how the basic building blocks of matter interact, governed by four fundamental forces

The theories and discoveries of thousands of physicists since the 1930s have resulted in a remarkable insight into the fundamental structure of matter: everything in the universe is found to be made from a few basic building blocks called fundamental particles, governed by four fundamental forces. Our best understanding of how these particles and three of the forces are related to each other is encapsulated in the Standard Model of particle physics. Developed in the early 1970s, it has successfully explained almost all experimental results and precisely predicted a wide variety of phenomena. Over time and through many experiments, the Standard Model has become established as a well-tested physics theory.

Two Black Sea bottlenose dolphins, called Yasha and Yana, were recorded talking to each other in a pool at the Karadag Nature Reserve, in Feodosia, Russia. Reserchers found that each dolphin would listen to a sentence of pulses without interruption, before replying. "Dolphins alter the volume and frequency of pulsed clicks to form individual 'words' which they string together into sentences in much the same way that humans speak." "Lead researcher Dr Vyacheslav Ryabov, said: 'Essentially, this exchange resembles a conversation between two people.'"
