The Apache OpenOffice project is pleased to announce that it has successfully integrated support for the Microsoft Active Accessibility (MSAA) and IAccessible2 interfaces.  Support for these interfaces enables screen readers and other assistive technologies to work with Apache OpenOffice, which in turn enables greater productivity by OpenOffice users who are blind or who have low-vision.

Sony pulls buggy PS3 update after user complaints: "Ironically, Sony had touted the update as offering improved system stability, but it seems to have done the exact opposite."  Between this and Microsoft changing some things on the Xbox One, there seems to be a lot of video game news recently. :)

+Terry Kingry I would think a big company would test things out pretty well in order to have a reputation for quality. However, maybe it slipped through testing somehow. Big companies are so secretive, I doubt we'll ever know!

We have several languages for OpenOffice that are 90% or more translated, including Uighur, Hebrew, Indonesian, Icelandic, Catalan, Arabic, Hindi and Ukrainian. If we can complete these translations in by January 13th then they can be included in the beta of Apache OpenOffice 4.1.

If you know any of these languages, and can volunteer to help translate, read this page for more details on how to get involved: http://ow.ly/rCVib

Please pass this invitation on to anyone else you know who might be able to help.

Thanks!

+Terry Kingry Solution: Convince your boss you need a Mac. :) Mine doesn't have that problem. Although I'm still running OpenOffice 3.4 on it (does everything I need), I doubt OO 4 would make a Mac start having the problem you describe.

Glad to see Microsoft listened to what people were saying about the Xbox One. Apparently it's no longer going to have limitations on used discs and won't require an internet connection to check in every 24 hours for playing offline. Will need a connection for initial setup though.
