Did you know that construction of the Mercer House was interrupted during the American Civil War? Anyone remember what year the Civil War started?

I guess I should have read the reviews on here prior to booking full-priced tickets for a haunted pub crawl on Halloween. My husband and I booked the tickets, a total of $22 a piece, and we were excited to do that our last night in town for our mini honeymoon the weekend after our wedding. Everything in Savannah had been perfect. Up until the point I got the following email from the tour: "Guests, Our area pubs have informed us that it is going to be crazy busy tonight. Halloween on Saturday night and nice weather isn't helping. For that reason, we have been asked not to stop in the pubs tonight. That gives us two choices: 1). You can attend and drink on our 9:30 ghost tour that leaves from Johnson Square at 9:30 by the sundial or We will be giving the pubs tour tomorrow nightfor those that can attend. Still Ellis Sq and still at 8:00pm." My husband and I talked it over, and at first we decided to do the 9:30 ghost walk, which we assumed would last the same amount of time - an hour and a half. However, after some packed days in Savannah, we were already pooped by 7 p.m., so I emailed back and asked for a refund since we were leaving town the next day - a 7 a.m. flight - and wouldn't be able to attend the Nov. 1 option either. I got a response from "Brad" within an hour and a half verifying he'd issue a refund the following day. Here I am, more than two weeks, multiple emails and a phone call later and no refund. I know it's only $44, but that's $44 I didn't use considering I didn't attend either of their tours. To top it off, my husband and I decided to grab one drink before turning in early on Halloween night, considering we had to get up at and ungodly hour to head to the airport. MULTIPLE pub crawl tours stopped in at the bar we were at. I'm not sure why our tour was cancelled, but I don't believe it was because the bars were asking our guide to not come in. UPDATE: Since writing my initial review in mid-November, I let the owner know I was happy to get my attorney involved (sent via email 11/16). I even tried getting in touch with the ticket company, but they needed consent from the business owner. On 11/30, I wrote "Brad" again, threatening to file a small claims suit with an attorney who was a family member, willing to work for me pro bono, and less than a week later I got an email from the ticket company that my refund had been approved. Brad didn't even email me himself to let me know he put it through. I was going to email him after it went through to thank him, but then they posted this on my FB review last night (as if it's my fault): The Savannah Walks: This dear lady has no patience and absolutely no understanding. Her refund was given by the vendor as promised. While I appreciate that the refund went through, I hate that it took almost a month and a half. I'll give them an extra star for actually going through with it (after the threat of a lawsuit.)

We did the Civil War Walk with Phillip as our guide. He was very knowledgeable and a native of Savannah, which is a plus!

Excellent! We took 3 different tours with 3 different guides and really enjoyed all of them! We were kind of surprised, because we didn't think anyone could be as fun and informative as the person who did our Garden Tour (excellent!), but then the other 2 tours were a blast! And we got a package discount to boot! Also, we especially liked that the Ghost tour was based around actual historical facts and not just made up stuff. It made what could have been a hokey tour very interesting and relevant. We would highly recommend this company and ALL of their tours! (Make sure to see if they will offer the discount package). All in a, an excellent experience. Great job!

Fantastic tour. We spent a full day in Savannah, and we were lucky to select Savannah Walks and even luckier to get Michael as our 'Savannah Stroll' guide. Informative, pleasant, easy to listen to, tolerant of our stupid questions, and tireless in his approach... Yes, I would recommend Savannah Walks for covering a beautiful city and it's interesting history.

Our tours with The Savannah Walks were fantastic. We took the stroll, homes tour and the ghost tour. The ghost tour was creepy and we got some amazing ghostly pictures.

I wouldn't know if it was a good tour or not. I purchased a Groupon and have been calling them for the last 3 days with no reply to set up a tour. I called Groupon and got my money back.

We have been on three walks in the last two days: Savannah Stroll and Civil War were brilliant! Our guide Mike was informed, witty and personable. He stayed with us for over 2 hours today fully engaged in helping our group understand the city's history, culture and charm. Our ghost tour I can't recommend ... Guide gave the info but lacked the story-teller skills to bring it to life. Overall, still highly recommended!
