Did you know that construction of the Mercer House was interrupted during the American Civil War? Anyone remember what year the Civil War started?

Excellent! We took 3 different tours with 3 different guides and really enjoyed all of them! We were kind of surprised, because we didn't think anyone could be as fun and informative as the person who did our Garden Tour (excellent!), but then the other 2 tours were a blast! And we got a package discount to boot! Also, we especially liked that the Ghost tour was based around actual historical facts and not just made up stuff. It made what could have been a hokey tour very interesting and relevant. We would highly recommend this company and ALL of their tours! (Make sure to see if they will offer the discount package). All in a, an excellent experience. Great job!

Fantastic tour. We spent a full day in Savannah, and we were lucky to select Savannah Walks and even luckier to get Michael as our 'Savannah Stroll' guide. Informative, pleasant, easy to listen to, tolerant of our stupid questions, and tireless in his approach... Yes, I would recommend Savannah Walks for covering a beautiful city and it's interesting history.

GREAT TOURS!!! Way to go Savannah Walks! Our girl scout troupe all the way from Minnesota would like to say how much they enjoyed your tours! Our guide was hilarious and informative and the ticket staff was very helpful to us. The tour went smoothly and we all had alot of fun. And we even got patches for our girls' uniforms in their cute little gift shop! We'll be back for another round next spring!

We have been on three walks in the last two days: Savannah Stroll and Civil War were brilliant! Our guide Mike was informed, witty and personable. He stayed with us for over 2 hours today fully engaged in helping our group understand the city's history, culture and charm. Our ghost tour I can't recommend ... Guide gave the info but lacked the story-teller skills to bring it to life. Overall, still highly recommended!

Went on the Civil War tour for my grandmother's 73rd birthday. Before buying tickets we specifically asked about the pacing of the tour because my grandmother was worried about keeping up. We were assured the walk was a "leisurely stroll". This was NOT the case. Our tour guide was extremely fast even after being asked to slow down. He repeatedly left multiple members of the tour behind as he crossed streets with 6 or 7 seconds left at the crosswalk. Not only could my grandmother not keep up, but other, much young, members of our tour group had trouble, as well. We missed a lot of the tour because by the time we caught up to our guide, he had already finished talking and was moving on. Not only was he too fast, but our guide was extremely boring. Most of the information was related more toward the civil war in general and not Savannah's role. Other members of our tour group were angry that they had taken another tour with Savannah Walks and our civil war tour went to the exact same spots and offered much of the same information. A TOTAL let down. We left with my grandmother exhausted and embarrassed about not being able to walk at a marathon runner's pace.

We visited Savannah this past weekend March 23 and 24. We pre-purchased tickets for their Pub and Taverns tour, and called Friday Morning to ensure a spot on the Friday night tour. We were told there was room and to meet at Ellis Squre at 7:45 for an 8:00 PM tour. We arrived at 7:40 because I was looking forward to this tour. WE waited at the Savannah Walks deignated meeting place until 8:05 when we decided we may be in the wrong place, so we called to be told our guide should be there soon. So we waited some more, 8:20 rolled around and still no guide. Called back and were told the guide was still enroute. So we waited some more, 8:35 now, we called once more and guess what, NO ANSWER. SO we went in the nxt morning to attempt to get a refund. NO go. DO NOT waist your time with these people, They have no regard for your time or money
