I don't suppose this edition will make it's way to the United States anytime soon?  Though we did get a nice release a decade ago from Janus/Criterion.

"The Disney Channel ran a long series of these interstitials featuring artwork mailed in by subscribers. I imagine kids were just thrilled to see their art and names on TV. This one ran in September 1984."

I'm more amused by the cable operator names that no longer exist!  Spotted mine in one of these (Buckeye Cablevision, though that one managed to make it to see it's 50th this year, who knows how long they'll continue to hold out).

I also see someone was a fan of Nelvana's "The Edison Twins".

"I remember seeing this ad as a young child, before I was even a "real" comics collector, and it spoke to me of the mysterious world of "bad kids"...these said bad kids being the type of fourth graders who had skateboards and hung out outside the Minit Mart. Ah, the 1980s..."

That's the world I wish was back.
Graffiti and bathrooms turn up in games in a kind of highly stylized fashion: you never see a stall door in Marc Ecko's Getting Up or Jet Grind Radio, while the stalls in eg. Duke Nukem 3D serve only as an opportunity to demo...

"Sigh.....when Philips was still top of the bill in developing brilliant stuff.....now they sold of consumer electronics and even removed "electronics" from their official name.....sad...."

It happens.  I miss what they were too.
