A recent ruling in the US in a case National Association for the Blind v. Scribd, No. 2:14-CV-162 (D. Vt. Mar. 19, 2015) is interpreting "operates a place of public accommodation" is not just physical but also applies ADA legislation to digital property (websites, applications, software, etc) as well.

Fascinating to see how disability legislation is being applied to ensure we end discrimination wherever it may occur in an increasingly technology dependent society.

This is an image of a cage used as a "quiet room" for an Autistic 10 yr old in a public school in Australia...

That teachers and staff charged with the care of children in a public school system could rationalize this as a valid and humane way to treat a child with a disability is a bold and frightening statement about where we are as a society in our treatment of people, particularly children, with disabilities.

This kind of stuff really boils my blood. I'm glad to see a judgement like this and a lawsuit championed by the US Dept. of Justice for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

For decades sheltered workshops have been the employment of choice by governments around the world to segregate people with intellectual disabilities from the rest of the population and an excuse to pay below minimum wage - essentially our own version of sweat shop manufacturing.

Glad to see this disgusting and dehumanizing practice being called out and forced to end.

Serious allegations against long term care homes where complaints from residents and family members about the facility are getting residents evicted and family members banned.

You can't hide the truth for long.

Fascinating and frightening (albeit small) study that gives insight into the possibility that Alzheimers may be acquired via protein transfers.

With child and adult obesity rates skyrocketing... How will this impact projected Alzheimer numbers in the next 15 years? Currently projected to double the number of patients. Are we looking at many more than predicted?

Great idea for driving change. Create and champion the legislation from within parliament. Want change? Be the change! #cdnpoli #elxn42
