Introduction
John gained a degree in Constructed Textiles at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design in Scotland. He has a working knowledge of weave, tapestry weave, knit, spinning, dyeing, printing, basketry, and other textile production methods. Since 2008 he has been producing The Textile Blog site, an inspirational point of reference for practical designers, makers and students covering many aspects of historical and contemporary creativity within design, decoration and craft. The Textile Blog site has a large internet platform that includes twitter, facebook, google+, pinterest, tumblr, and youtube.

As a full time writer, John now produces articles for a range of magazines as well as the publication of reference books on various aspects of both historical and contemporary textile art, design and craft.
