Milky Way, Clouds & Shooting Star- A7r3, 14mm, f/2, 30s, ISO 6400.

A single frame with a shooting star and the milky way from Friday night. I wish I had the energy to be out shooting tonight!

Bixby Bridge and Milky Way - A7r3, 14mm, f/2, 30s, ISO 6400.

I stopped off at Bixby Bridge on my way back Friday night (technically Saturday morning since it was 1:45AM) and the fog had mostly cleared so I figured I would make a quick image. There were still some clouds hugging the cliffs which lit up nicely in the first frame I captured.

King Pair - 5D3, 400mm, f/4, 1/800s, ISO 200.

Its amazing that even after nearly 6 years I still find Penguin images from my South Georgia trip that I haven’t seen or worked on in my catalog.

Sails and Moon - Hasselblad X1D, 45mm, f/8, 1/180s, ISO 100.

I had a really hard time getting this black & white conversion to look right in Lightroom, but fortunately with Silver Efex Pro from the Nik Collection it took only a few seconds to get exactly the tonality I was looking for!

Leopard Calling - 1DX, 400mm, f/5, 1/800s, ISO 400.

This is one of those things that a single photograph doesn’t fully capture, its a Leopard in a tree mid mating call (which is like a repeated deep throated grunting sound).

Vestrahorn Sand Reflection - Phase One XF, IQ3 100, 40mm, f/14, 1/50s, ISO 100.

The area of Stokksness in Iceland has gotten a lot of attention from photographers lately and there is no shortage of images of Vestrahorn Mountain, the black beach or the dunes covered in grasses but this composition really caught my eye I think this set up is ephemeral. I really like how Vestrahorn is “reflected” by the golden sand and when you pull into the sand there are layers of interesting detail. Can’t wait to see this printed large.

Cool things happen in Antarctica when the sun goes behind thin layers of cloud under a great tabular iceberg.
