NEWS RELEASE

Thursday, August 28, 2014     1:00 p.m.

The investigation into the "alleged" robbery resulting in the shooting of a Pastor of the Centennial Valley Community Church has concluded.

-When deputies arrived at the scene Tuesday night, they immediately became suspicious of the alleged crime. Combined with conflicting statements made by Davis and evidence at the scene, Deputies became suspicious of a false report.

Albany County Sheriffs had a total of (8) deputies responding to Centennial to investigate the incident and conduct a search for the reported suspect. While contacting residents in the area, one witness reported hearing two muffled sounds that may have been gun shots but was unsure. A Sheriff's Office K-9 unit, first on scene, was deployed in the general area where the suspect reportedly fled. The K-9 team was unable to identify any evidence indicating a person had fled from the scene. After searching the area, Deputies were unable to locate any person matching the suspect description provided by Davis.
