It was a very enjoyable expresso bar. The cakes lined up on their shelves seemed more than delicious to the eye. The hot chocolate was delicious and pure as it was made from proper bitter chocolate. Great place

The best Italian in a casual but friendly atmosphere. .a Melbourne must do!

Wouldn't even give this place 1 star if I had the choice, no prices on the food, no menu, rude staff. The food was absolutely shocking, ordered the spaghetti marinara, all the seafood was typical imported packet seafood, wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. No variety of drinks available, needs a lot of work.

Went to pelligrini's in 2010, back again in 2014, nothing has changed and I'm more than happy with that! Food is basic italian cooking done well, just went with the special today - lasagne, great sauce, fantastic pasta and covered in parmesan, what's not to like, glass of fabulous granita and a cappuccino to finish. Service is friendly and quick, prices are low. Melbourne Institution.

Recommended as a Melbourne institution... Had the most unpretentious but divine lasagne and latte. Awesome. But next time I will try for the seating out in the kitchen, just the smells alone are worth the visit.

Rude service. Lousy food. Dirty.

Went there last night for the first time in 20 years and it hasn't changed a bit. How many places in Melbourne or Sydney have survived that long. Tiny, great coffee, no -nonsense pasta, deserts that taste rather than look great. The staff were friendly once you made an attempt to engage with them. Devotees of the latest food fad (what! no quinoa and kale) or those with fashionable dietary restrictions which didn't exist when this place was started need not enter. Leave it to us please.

Fantastic food sans pretentious atmosphere. Gorgeous place, all the food is made out the back by beautiful little nonnas, what more could you want
