I had the chance to attend ISTE this year and the Google Booth was buzzin'!! Here is an email recap I just received from them...

Google for Education at ISTE: Five Things to Know

Impact Portraits: learn from seven school districts across the U.S. who have used Chromebooks and G Suite to drive measurable improvements in everything from reading skills to AP diploma graduation rates.

Content Bundles for Chrome: engage your students with educational apps on Chromebooks, including our two new app bundles: STEM tools and media literacy apps. Schools can purchase these bundles at a discount from their Chromebook reseller. Interested in these app bundles for your school or district? Fill out this form to connect with an expert.

Be Internet Awesome: a new digital citizenship and safety program to help kids make smart decisions online. The curriculum is available on the Be Internet Awesome resource hub, and as part of a new online course for teachers of all grade levels in the Google for Education Training Center.

Google Earth Voyager: we announced ten new stories in Google Earth Voyager, the new storytelling platform we built with educators in mind. IT administrators can now manage Google Earth as an additional service for Google for Education users through the Google Admin panel.

Expeditions Self-Guided Mode: coming soon, the Expeditions app for Cardboard and Daydream will offer a self-guided mode so anyone can access more than 600 virtual field trips. Students and teachers will be able to pick an adventure to anywhere—from the Great Barrier Reef to the Great Wall of China—and see details on points of interest highlighted on cards.

Looking for an assessment tool that teacher can record voice and student respond via voice. Thoughts? (Schoology can do this but for $$).

JUST LAUNCHED: New Google Classroom Features!

Fresh out of #ISTE2015 , the #GoogleClassroom  Team just launched a set of brand new features, some rolling out over the summer and by August:

Classroom API: The Classroom API allows admins to provision and manage classes at scale, and lets developers integrate their applications with Classroom.

Classroom share button: a simple way for developers – or schools – to allow teachers and students to seamlessly assign or turn-in links, videos and images from another webpage or product.

Mobile Classroom notifications: In the next few weeks, we’ll be adding mobile notifications in our iOS and Android app.

Re-use previous posts: If you used Classroom this year and want to reuse your assignments or materials in future classes, you'll be able to in August. We’re planning to roll out the ability for you to reuse assignments and posts from old classes.

Easier provisioning of Google Apps accounts for your domain: Last week we introduced a new API to generate available usernames and create Google Apps accounts in your domain: account provisioning for Google Apps.
