So the micro USB port on my phone has become highly temperamental, to the point that it actually drains the battery faster when plugged in than it does when in my pocket. I think that's because every time it loses or regains the charging connection, the screen turns on to tell me about it.

Said phone is an HTC One M8 running Android Lollipop 5.0.1.
Question 1: How do I keep battery notifications from waking up my phone?
Question 2: Is it worth trying to get the port fixed, or should I just take this as an opportunity to upgrade?

After being told several times on a friend's post that said friend would love to have the conversation he was bringing up, but not here, the commenter finally responded, "Do you know how it feels to silence oneself like that?"

I'm guessing he's one of those guys who refuses to hang up when told he has the wrong number.

Anyone know how to figure out which scheduled task is trying to run a particular script file in Windows 10?

Yoshitaka Amano drew a series of illustrations in 2004 called "The Return of the Thin White Duke", portraying David Bowie and Iman as sci-fi characters.

I think my interview was a little too hard. Poor guy.

I gave him one of the complicated spreadsheets we use and a browser window open to Google.
My questions consisted of, "Here's a formula. What result is it giving you? What is the formula doing to get that result? What does the result mean, and what question was I asking when I wrote the formula?"

My goal was to see if he could walk through an unfamiliar formula step by step, if he knew how to find explanations of formula elements that he didn't already know, and if he could figure out the purpose behind the formula. And then if he COULDN'T figure that out, how far he would get with hints and how well he could understand my explanation of what was going on.

He was super intimidated, only looked one thing up, and needed a lot of hints, but whenever I showed him a technique that would help him figure it out he knew when it was needed again and how to use it, and he was able to rephrase my explanations in a way that showed he actually understood them.

Jessica Jones is really good and also exactly the sort of creepy that I shouldn't watch because it sticks in my head and gives me nightmares.

Hey, so I really like the idea of the Jessica Jones series, but I'm not good at creepy fucked up stuff. Can anyone give me a rundown of content warnings that would apply to the show, especially regarding sexual violence and mental abuse? I would also appreciate a rundown of any problematic elements resulting from the creators' biases rather than just their plot choices.

Yesterday, I read a book with more sexual violence in it than I was expecting. To chase the repeating scene out of my head, I got this song stuck in it instead. I think a lot of you might find this soothing today.
