This is a shot from a recent visit to Empress Falls in the Blue Mountains, +Visit NSW. Just before I captured this image I had the opportunity to watch a large canyoning group abseiling down from the top of the falls. If I had more time in the area I would have loved to give it a go! It looked like an awesome adventure!

Sleeping Giants

We arrived at Bermagui on the Sapphire Coast in +Visit NSW yesterday afternoon and the first order of business after setting up camp was to head over to Camel Rock to scope it out for sunrise. This being my first visit to the area, I was blown away by the size and shape of these rocks! It had been overcast all day so I wasn't expecting any colour in the sky, however I was pleasantly surprised right at the last minute.

This beautiful little spot is called Ladies Bath Falls.

The history behind this location states that ladies on their way to the chalet on top of Mount Buffalo during the 1930's and 40's would take a break during the long train journey from Melbourne to refresh themselves at the falls before the final leg up the hill.
Mount Buffalo is part of Victoria's High Country and features over 90km of walking tracks featuring panoramic scenery, waterfalls and amazing granite outcrops.

Despite the ongoing rain on our trip, we decided what better place to get rained on than a 'rainforest' :)

On that note we drove to the Great Otway National Park to check out some waterfalls. This shot was taken at Hopetoun Falls which was the last location we visited today. It was also the place where we received the least amount of rain while hiking. I can say 100% without a doubt that my Nikon D800 is very weatherproof as it definitely got covered in its fair share of water today.

These falls also have the shortest walk from the carpark to the base which is always a bonus :)

Overall it was a very productive day despite the wet weather.

Check out my latest blog post on the area -

Walking the narrows in Alligator Gorge, part of Mount Remarkable National Park in South Australia.

The colour of the gorge walls was a vibrant orange. It was an awesome contrast against the green foliage growing amongst the rocks.

Skies last night were totally clear which made it perfect conditions to capture the Milky Way over Lake Bonney in South Australia.

There wasn't a breath of wind and standing almost knee deep in the water, I felt like I was surrounded by stars. You could see them in the sky and also their reflections in the water. It was almost as if the sky and the water were connected in one endless space of celestial light.

This image is made up of 7 separate exposures joined together to capture the full arch of the Milky Way.

Some of you may have seen this one on my Instagram profile however I'm a little behind over here on Google+.
I took this shot one afternoon last week after we arrived at Wilpena Pound in the Flinders Ranges. We immediately started scoping out sunset locations. The drive into this place is to die for! So many possible spots that it was doing my head in deciding where to stop. We eventually took a side road into Bunyeroo Gorge and stopped at the Razorback Lookout to capture this scene.
