Although we've been treating patients since April 1, yesterday afternoon was the official "ribbon cutting" ceremony for Sarasota Memorial's fifth urgent care center.  As with the other UCCs, it's open seven days a week, 8 am to 8 pm, and staffed by Sarasota Memorial's board certified emergency and family medicine physicians.

Sarasota Memorial's HealthSquare, located in the middle of Sarasota Square Mall, is pleased to present a free program Tuesday, April 15 from 9 to 10 a.m., "Yoga for All - Chair Yoga!"  Join HealthFit's  Deniese Kragel as she demonstrates the benefits of traditional yoga, while protecting the lower back and joints, using chair support.  Please RSVP: 941-302-4271.

National Volunteer Week, April 6-12, 2014, is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities. Kudos and thank you to Sarasota Memorial's Auxiliary and Corporate Volunteers who give so much to our hospital and community!

The SMH Bike Team recently participated in the Bike MS Citrus Tour to help find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.  The SMH team has been involved in the tour since 2005.  This year they raised close to $6,000!  Kudos to all!

Sarasota Memorial supports All Faiths Food Bank Campaign Against Summer Hunger - 21,000 Sarasota County students are on free and reduced lunch.  During the summer, many may go without regular meals.  Drop off food donations at any Sarasota County Goodwill or Fire Station.  Place your change in the cash donation containers at Sarasota Memorial's Cafés and Gift Shop.
Help us feed 21,000 Children this Summer who are on free or reduced lunch in Sarasota County during the school year. Sign up at www.SkipALunch.org.
