My wife and I planned this excursion for our first anniversary. I purchased the complete package – champagne, roses, keepsake glass, etc. The “platinum” package. Two days prior to the trip, I called and verified that my wife was identified as vegetarian, and allergic to shellfish. As we boarded the ship, the crew was excellent. Welcoming, gracious, and efficient. The ship was beautifully decorated, and we were looking forward to dinner. Our server came over and introduced himself, and then the wheels started to fall off. Our server hadn’t read the notes, and I had to inform him that my wife was allergic to shellfish and a vegetarian. He asked us for a drink order, then disappeared. We went to the bar and got our own drinks 40 minutes later. When the appetizers were delivered to the table, our waiter was not present, nor had he communicated the allergy to the food runner, and so an appetizer containing shellfish was set in front of my wife. This was corrected by the food runner, still with no sign of our server. When the soup was delivered, we were not made aware of then, or at any time prior, that there was a vegetarian, shellfish-free option for the soup. Only as the course was being cleared did our server mention it, and offer to get one for my wife. He came back 5 minutes later to say “sorry – all out.” At this point, he again took a drink order, and again disappeared, leaving us to fill it ourselves at the bar. Around us, we started to see the salad course appear, but with no server present, we did not receive our salad. The manager came by at this point to check on us, and we pointed out that while most people were finishing their salads, we had not received ours. He said he would look into it immediately. A second server came by to apologize for us not having salads, brought us a ‘complimentary’ drink (vaguely insulting on an open-bar cruise), then herself disappeared. As the tables around us started to receive entrees, the food runner showed up again without our server, and then was sent away as our server showed up, told us “he didn’t know what happened” to our salads, and delivered them to us. Nearly 45 minutes later, as the tables around us had completed entrees, and were cleaning up, we received our entrees which had clearly been sitting in a warmer for the entire 45 minutes. We ate our dry, tough, overcooked food, and a busboy cleared the table for us, but our server didn’t show up to uncork our champagne, or in fact for any reason, until we were on our way back to the dock. At this point, I indicated that we’d ordered the keepsake glasses (of which he was unaware), that our champagne bottle had never been opened, that the couple next to us had received a delightful “happy anniversary” dessert item, and so forth. He looked confused, and said “so, did you want the glasses?” This is a very long way of saying that this was perhaps the worst service I’ve ever paid for in my life. I’ve had better service at a chain restaurant for $20 then I did on this cruise. I most assuredly will not be recommending this trip to anyone I know, and will in fact be actively encouraging people to do anything else.

We went on this dinner cruise, 2 of us. The service was very good, polite, attentive, and prompt. The food was tasty. And the evening view of the memorials was very special. We're glad we took the trip. The ambience was enjoyable.

Absolutely abysmal! Service was so slow, that nearby tables were eating dessert by the time we were served our dinner. Food was mediocre at best. Band didn't play danceable music until the final 20-30 minutes of the night, so the dance floor was completely empty for most of the night. Adding insult to injury, they overcharged my credit card, so now I have to go through the dispute process with my credit card company to get my money back.

Took my friend for her birthday and we had a blast. The flowers they gave her were awesome and the band did an amazing job. Will definitely go back.

The service was great. That's the only good thing about the experience. We spent close to $300 for frozen and then overcooked seafood. Even the desserts had no flavor. The "upgrades" for appetizers were grossly overpriced for the quality. Save your money.

A WONDERFUL experience! We spent 3 hours at Mt Vernon and even caught the Annual Craft Fair. We bought a few things there too. I would totally recommend taking this tour when you are in the D C area.
