Stanley Steemer cleaned both the carpets and tile in my home. The gentlemen who visited my home were very courteous. Unfortunately, the work was, overall, very poor, and the uncompensated damage to my home ensures that this company will not receive any repeat business from me. I am currently considering whether it would be worth my time to engage them in small claims court. The tile, specifically the grout, was greatly improved upon completion of the work. That is where any positive feedback ends. They tracked so much water in, out, and around my home, a casual observer entering the place might have mistaken the situation for flooding. Further, because they do not provide any means by which to dry their water mess, I spent a great deal of time during and after the service wiping and cleaning my hardwoods to prevent water damage. Consequently, I had 2 loads of towels to launder after their departure. I was told that my carpets would be damp, and would take approximately 48 hours to dry. Oddly, my carpets were so wet, when you attempted to step on them, water pooled around your feet. One of the rooms "cleaned" was my master bedroom, so we had to use our rooms. 3 days later, despite opened windows whenever possible, the carpet was still cold and damp. Within a week, the carpet appeared little different than the day before they arrived. The tile remained marginally improved. We have had an additional issue with this company. During the course of service, one of the technicians damaged the wall and door frame of our master bathroom, leaving large scratch marks, wood and wall gouges, and paint damage. I contacted the company, which sent the Operations Manager to my home to inspect the damage. He stated that they could offer me a discount on air duct cleaning or another future service as compensation. Given the poor quality of their service, and my decision to not use this company again in the future, I declined, and requested a partial credit of 15-20% for the service already performed. The gentleman indicated that he would have to seek approval for my request and would be back in contact. Despite attempts to contact them, I have received no response. In summary, Stanley Steemer will visit your home, drench it in water, damage your walls, clean very little, charge you an exorbitant amount of money, and then try to leverage the damage they caused into future service. It is my personal opinion that this franchise engages in fraudulent business practices and I would not recommend anyone to engage Stanley Steemer for any service.
