Not quite ready to give up #GNOME 2 and jump to #Unity in #Ubuntu 12.04? You don't have to! Looks like GNOME..err..GNOME Panel..will be alive in the repositories for those of you not quite ready to move on.
Come April 26th and the release of Ubuntu 12.04 a vast number of Ubuntu users will be getting their first taste of the Unity desktop since its basic beginnings as the Ubuntu Netbook Remix in the last ...

Welcome to the Worldwide Linux User Group (WWLUG). Our goal is to provide a place for those who don't have a local user group to come, hang out with other Linux enthusiasts, talk tech, and have fun. Please help us spread the word. Also, we're getting ready to start our regular Hangouts so please let us know what day is good for you!

Is #FOSS taking over Iceland? Sure looks like it might be...eventually. The cash strapped Icelandic government has officially kicked off its year long migration project in all free and open source software at all of its public institutions. Good news for FOSS and Iceland in general. More proof that FOSS can both save money and make companies that sell support around it money too. http://www.linuxinsider.com/rsstory/74715.html

Well, that's the rub +Michael Kornblum, we don't really know where this stands legally. Technically, the project is using proprietary software without the owners permission and Microsoft hasn't usually taken lightly to people doing that. I predict it's going to end badly. If this project gains any traction, I suspect MS is going to come after them hard.
