Revisiting the coverage we received this year, we loved this quote from our neighbors up north, via The Calgary Sun — "Salish Cliffs is also part of the reason Washington state — where you can golf year-round — is gaining steam as a golf destination." We're proud to be a part of the courses in the Northwest gaining the attention of golfers worldwide.

The following article by NWGolfGuys gives a great account of their experience playing Salish Cliffs Golf Club. Is there anything you'd add?

"The finishing hole at Salish Cliffs allows you to head home feeling great. Paying close attention to yardages will help you set up a great birdie opportunity. Favor the left side all the way and take pictures of the water, don’t give it your golf balls."

We enjoy reading articles that share one's experience at Salish Cliffs Golf Club. It's especially great when the author pens a line like, "The long and beautiful fescue — it waves at you from every fairway until you develop a fescue fetish." It's almost poetic. We hope you enjoy reading this article as much as we did!

Check out the shots (not swings) Tony Korologos, of Hooked On Golf Blog, posted from his recent visit to Salish Cliffs Golf Club. While he's working on the full review, he does state it's "perhaps the best quality greens I’ve putted all year," which must explain why he drained this putt for birdie. Thanks for the kind words, Tony! We can't wait to read your full report!

Award-winning golf columnist, Bart Potter, covers Salish Cliffs Golf Club's recent "Salmon Safe" Certification — the first of its kind in the world for a golf course —

"Aaron Clark, an environmental scientist with Stewardship Partners, acknowledges “certain tensions” between tree-huggers – his word – and the golf industry. And thus he was pleased, just last week, to be at Salish Cliffs Golf Club near Shelton, Wash., to celebrate the year-old course as the first anywhere to earn Salmon Safe Golf Course Certification."

One of the great things about the Pacific Northwest is that we're part of a vast array of cultures. Here are some words written by one of our friends up north!

"The Seattle area was a golf magnet for Canadians long before the USGA awarded the Open to Tacoma’s Chambers Bay for 2015. With its proximity to Vancouver and its year-round facilities, the environs of the Emerald City have been popular for courses such as Sahalee, Washington National and the Golf Club At Newcastle.

But there’s a sterling newcomer just 70 minutes south of the metro Seattle area that’s vying for the affections of Canadians. The 7,269-yard Salish Cliffs Golf Club, part of the Little Creek Casino Resort."

We're pleased to debut at #9 on the 2012 Golf Magazine | Golf.com Best Public Golf Courses in Washington list. We are fortunate to share the honor with so many other great courses in the state. What do you think - are there changes you'd make to the list?

Scenic, tranquil, challenging and memorable. I played this course for the first time this year. A week later I could still vividly remember many of the holes we played. The views standing on the tee boxes, shapes of the fairways and the overall layout. To me, that is the sign of a great course. You step up on the tee box and pause for a moment to admire the layout and scenery then you hit away. Excellent driving range and terrific burgers. Worth every penny!

Very nice resort type course. Good people working there. Nice club house. Challenging without being abusive. Do not stray out of the middle of the fairway too far (ball will be gone, period) Very much like White Horse or Trophy with more elevations. Need to read the grain on the greens more than most courses in the NW. Price - Too high. Pass too many nice courses on the way here that are half to two-thirds the cost. Played it once, liked it, prices too high. (For food go to the casino to eat, pricy again) I'll be back when the price comes down.
