I have been both scuba diving and on whale watch tours with this company. On the big island you can not go wrong and will be happy if you choose this company. Pick a question, excellent boat-yes, great cheerful, pro crew-yes, excellent equipment-yes, great things to see-yes, and.......There are two other companies our of more than 40 on this Island that i would rate as good. I have over 5,000 dives over 18 years off 3 continents and 10 countries. You will be happy. And by the way I would give a specif gold star to Robyn S. as a guide above and below water.

I'm not a very experienced diver and often have trouble with my ears. Kohala Divers took us out and were an absolute pleasure to be with. Very professional and nice people. They made me feel very comfortable and let me set the pace for my decent without any pressure. I actually haven't gone on a dive in about five years and they urged me to take a pool refresher class the day before the dive to feel more comfortable. They were also very helpful in the renting of snorkel gear for my kids. I'll be going back next year.

Kohala Divers are a welcome relief from the mob scene of diving in the Kailua-Kona area. I have been diving with them for over five years now, and have yet to see another dive group at any of their sites. All of the sites I have been to with Kohala Divers have been in fishery replenishment zones, where aquarium fishers are banned from harvesting the reef, thus the underwater life has been fantastic. Be aware that some of their dive sites can require more advanced certification, but they have plenty of variety to support both new and "old" divers.

Kohala Divers were resoundingly professional in their orchestration of a potentially deadly sport, but managed to hit the perfect balance of carefree fun at the same time. They picked us up promptly, took care of all our gear (and anxiety) needs accompanied by smiles and genuine warmth, and took us for an absolutely fantastic half-day of diving. They know the sites, understand the conditions, and read the experience and comfort level of divers quite well. Robin in particular was an absolutely outstanding divemaster- one of the couple most professional, sweet, knowledgeable, and approachable of any I've had in my 100+ dives. Don't go through your resort or travel agency or anything- contact these guys directly, and they'll take care of you.
