Introduction

Mezzo-soprano Heather McCallum earned her Bachelors degree in Music Education from Hope College in Holland, MI in 2012 and her Masters in Vocal Performance at MSU in 2015. She is a five-time NATS first place winner and the recipient of the Irma Cooper “Most Promising” award in 2011. Heather has appeared as the Third Lady in Die Zauberflöte and Annina in La Traviata with Opera Grand Rapids. At MSU, Heather has appeared in the roles of Third Lady, Die Zauberflöte; Mimi, La Boheme; and Fiordiligi, Cosi fan tutte. Heather has also appeared with Muskegon Civic Theatre and Central Park Players, as music director for the Michigan premieres of Pinkalicious the Musical and How I Became a Pirate, as well as on the stage. Some roles include Princess Fred in Once Upon a Mattress (2009), Fritzie in Cabaret (2007), Lala in The Last Night of Ballyhoo (2007), Meg Brockie in Brigadoon (2007), Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast (2006).

 

Heather lives in Grand Rapids with her husband, Scott.
