GCI specializes in producing highly effective pressure sensitive labels (PSLs). GCI provides both flexographic and digital printing and works with clients to identify which process best suits their needs. Compared to other types of labels in the market, PSLs remain the most popular label type and continue to take market share from glue-applied labels. PSLs are also a superb option when a short-run order is needed, because of its minimal setup, cleanup and rapid changeover.

One tip to get consumers to choose your product over a competitors is to place helpful information on the label. This can be accomplished by providing consumers with recipes and ideas either through QR codes, an app, or simply by providing it on the outside or inside of a label. Furthermore, conveying any causes or organizations your company supports demonstrates commitment a consumer may share and could lead them to buying your product.

If you're creating a label for a product to directly compete with a highly recognized product, GCI can make you a label to get your product noticed. When competing against a large competitor, it is very important to make sure that your label stands out while matching up with the recognized product - consumers are drawn to familiar products, so your label needs to share some similarities with the well known product. Consumers use all five senses while shopping, so using different fonts and colors, and an attractive, textured material will help your product stand out from the recognized one.

The main purpose of having a label is to give consumers information about a product. The type of information given varies based on the type of product – food labels will display nutrition information while nutraceutical labels will display relevant ingredients and warnings. Often, overly flashy labels confuse consumers, because the message is often lost. The key to making sure the most relevant information possible is place on a label is organization – an order should be used to figure out what information is relevant and what information is not. Another way to effectively add information to a label is to include descriptive terms in product's name. By adding the term "heavy duty" or "new improved formula" consumers gain an idea about why your product is superior to others and that phrase will often stick with them throughout the purchase decision process. Simplicity doesn't just have to do with message being delivered, simplicity also applies to all fonts and graphics used. If the font is hard to read, then it doesn't matter what the label says.
