The desk I spent most of my afternoon working at. The view is wasted on me, I'm afraid. Which is a shame, I know lots of people you would have enjoyed it far more.

Neil Armstrong. Not just the guy who walked on the moon.

NASA Center Renamed in Honor of Neil A. Armstrong - President Barack Obama has signed HR 667, the congressional resolution that redesignates NASA's Hugh L. Dryden Flight Research Center as the Neil A. Armstrong Flight Research Center, into law.

Armstrong was a naval aviator from 1949 to 1952. During the Korean War he flew 78 combat missions. In 1955 he joined the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA), NASA's predecessor, as a research pilot at Lewis Laboratory in Cleveland. He later transferred to NACA's High Speed Flight Research Station at Edwards AFB, Calif., later named NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center. As a research project test pilot over the course of seven years at the center from 1955 through 1962, he was in the forefront of the development of many high-speed aircraft. This photograph shows Neil Armstrong next to the X-15 rocket-powered aircraft after a research flight. He was one of only 12 pilots to fly the hypersonic X-15 as well as the first of 12 men to later walk on the moon. In all, he flew more than 200 different types of aircraft.

So, this is a thing. It turns out your #Myki has a limited life span.

That's silly enough, but it gets sillier:

Mine is registered and named. So, I need to post it off and have a new one made/posted back.

My balance will take 36 hours to be carried over to my new card.

Once I have my new card (because every early adopter is expiring at the same time, this will likely take 10 working days), I'll need to re-establish auto top up.

I happen to have a spare Myki, because I forgot my wallet one day and needed to buy another one to get to work. If I didn't have that Myki, I'd need to buy it now to get by for the next two weeks.

I should say the system is silly, but the ptv staff themselves I've dealt with have been as helpful as possible within that system.

+Jason Bailey it looks like #Myki  have NFC when it comes to these things!

At least your card didn't get blocked/banned/black-listed for no reason and have to be reissued. Not sure if it's still the same but I had to go to Spencer Street, hand in my card, get a temporary one and wait for another in the mail.

Ahh the big picture view I couldn't get today from the field. Being a part of this was the most fun I've had playing Ingress. July 6th, 2013 - the day Australia was Enlightened.

This project just keeps getting more and more awesome!

By the end of the night I'll need to expand this GIF to include the whole world!

Doing this is far more fun than it should be. I've done three previously, and digging up the dirt on random strangers then posting them cool loot from across the planet gives me so much joy.

Oh, I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, but doing this has so far made me a two-time Guinness World Record holder. This year, I hope to make it a hat trick!

So, do I know anyone who is going to One Electric Day?

I'm rather looking forward to it. It won't be my first time as a loner at such an event should it come to that, but I'd rather be in company...

An oldie, but I loved it enough the first time to save it onto the desktop of my old Windows 8.0 VM. I was just checking it over to see if there was anything I needed to salvage on it before I deleted it. :)

The #Myki fun continues. I'm 14th in line to do a top up. I walk through this queue every day and never really think about how long it is. Do these poor souls stand in this line regularly?

Hi +ABC Australia , I'm absolutely loving the Classic 100: Music in Movies. As a John Williams fan, it almost feels like I'm listening to my own CD collection at times, but I've also discovered some great gems I didn't know of.

But let me just say that if Star Wars doesn't take out #1, we're going to have words.
Longtime collaborator of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, American composer John Williams reunited with them to write the music for Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), the first of what would end up being four films about Indiana Jones. The lead role was played by Harrison Ford and the jaunty ...

Number 2? The only movie left is The Mission, and as much I love that score, it isn't better than this. Star Wars is iconic to three generations of people all over the world. As great as The Mission is, it just isn't in the same league.

Stayed here for two nights, the place was family friendly, clean and no fuss. Breakfast was average, but free. Village inn next door if you want something more substantial. A great place to stay.

I had just landed at the airport and needed a place to stop and do some urgent work. I spotted Maccas, was going to go there, then saw Lazy Moe's. From the reviews, I wasn't expecting much; but it couldn't be worse than Maccas, right? So I had a simple brekky of Eggs Benedict and a coffee. You know what? It was fine. Good, even. It wasn't so amazing that I'd drive out here for the place, but if I'm coming from the airport and in need of a feed, I know where to stop next time.

Have eaten here about 5 times. Lucky to live nearby. Friends travel across town to eat here - among the best and most authentic Indian restaurants in Melbourne.

This is a quality resort. If you are looking for a haven from the real world for a while, this is a wonderful option. Pricey, but classy.
