Some 2000 US citizens are killed by law enforcement officials every year in this country.  That's more than are killed by ISIS or any other terrorist organization since their inception.  This is by organizations that are swore to protect and serve our populace.

This is obviously broken.  No officer should be allowed to discharge their weapon in "self-defence" unless they are pu tin a position where said defence is warranted.  If a suspect fires at them, then obviously deadly force would be warranted.  This used to be the standard for any justified shooting for law enforcement for decades, they fire, you shoot back.  Now suddenly, just the implication of any danger (whether lethal or not) by a suspect warrants the use of deadly force.

This is wrong!  All persons, regardless of whether they are criminals or not, have the expectation in this country to a trial by a jury of their peers to a trail to determine whether they are guilty, and not to be shot down in the streets like a dog.  This is America, not Brazil or thailand, or some other third world country where police are afforded the license to kill at will.

This must stop!  Our Justice system is effectively rendered useless when our law enforcement is allowed to dispense street justice in the form of executions at will.  IT HAS TO STOP!   The American people need to realize that US citizens have a right to a trial and to be to afforded the expectation of innocence until found guilty by their peers in this country.

Otherwise, we are no better than Afghanistan or Iraq or any other country where the citizens are killed indiscriminately by there so-called "law enforcement" officials.

IT MUST END!!!!

To All  Whom May Read This....

In this, the Year of Our Lord MMXV, I do wish upon thee...

A blessed annum that shall provide both thee and thine peace
An increase in all investments both pecuniary and familiarly
In thine judgments may wisdom reign supreme
And to put upon thine hearts the desire to share thine blessings with those not so blessed.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Saw this little guy while out fishing yesterday.  At first glance, I thought it was a copperhead so I gave it wide berth - but after a little google-fu, I found out it was harmless.

What's really interesting is the cavitation bubble implosion after the shot, there is enough energy in that to smash atoms!

Is it just me, or does the vocal melody sound a lot like Beats International - Dub Be Good To Me from 1990? (Yeah, I'm old)

If every human child was born gay from this moment on, the human race would be extinct by the year 2135.

That's actually longer than I would have expected. Artificial insemination excluded, I assume.

I have this crazy concept.  I know it will seem odd and strange to many, but I feel the need to share it, feel free to ignore it as you see fit...

How about, instead of everyone trying to convince everyone else that only what they think, eat, drink, write, drive, worship, have sex with, vote, do, etc.  is the only correct or right way - We all just do what we do and respect everyone else's right to do what they do?

It's so tiresome to log onto G+ just to see people proselytizing their own agendas constantly.  Here's a thought, whatever you do is cool just so long as it isn't hurting the next guy.  Also, whatever the next guy does is cool too as long as it isn't hurting you.  Right?

Ok, that said, can we move forward now to let G+ NOT be the next Facebook and be better?  Thanks!  8=)

Introduction
I'm many kinds of geek - computer, Linux, gadget, nature, book, movie.  I'm that rare kind of nerd that actually has a fair degree of social acumen, however I still prefer to keep to myself whenever possible.  Still coming to terms with the fact that I'm middle aged...ugh!  I'm a bit of a wordsmith and some of my biggest pet-peeves are spelling errors and persons who don't seem to be able to express themselves properly. I'm opinionated but open-minded.  I'm a father, US Navy veteran, divorced, dog lover, and hold to Christian values but not religious. I have no political affiliation, just go with whatever seems right to me.

That's probably more than you wanted or needed to know, but if for some odd reason you want to know more about me, please feel free to ask me directly.
