Showing why federation is important. Identica has been having serious outages lately, and because of the Open Microblogging protocol, you can setup your own instance, follow others under different domains, all with Free Software.

I got to be careful with this stuff. I'm dangerous to my own Linux installs. Explains why I could bust rpm-based distributions so easily :-)

The Universal Operating System
Introduction

Debian is a free operating system (OS) for your computer. An operating system is the set of basic programs and utilities that make your computer run. Debian uses the Linux kernel (the core of an operating system), but most of the basic OS tools come from the GNU project; hence the name GNU/Linux.

Debian GNU/Linux provides more than a pure OS: it comes with over 29000 packages, precompiled software bundled up in a nice format for easy installation on your machine.

This page is just a fan-based brand page. It is NOT the "Official" page of Debian, nor will one likely exist.

This page uses #hashtags to filter posts in your stream. Click on any of the hashtags at the end of each post, and click "Save this search" to add it to your profile.
