I was in locks restaurant last Saturday with my partner who traveled down from Antrim. We had been there before and enjoyed it.So we were looking forward to a good night. imagine our surprise to discover a set menu.Which was very poor selection. We asked could we order side dishes and were told no.I mean a restaurant that has a reputation for good food cant even cater for side orders. The set menu was terrible and the portions were tiny. I am afraid you wont find me back in a hurry .Unless there are some major changes get rid of set menu. Oh and get rid of that awful music.. just something easy to listen to in back ground. hope to see changes because its such a nice restaurant.hope you get your act together

The food was really good in taste and was elegantly presented. If you go for quantity over quality, I wouldn't recommend it, since the price is expensive. Wine list is extent but very expensive. The service is nice overall and efficient in keeping our glasses topped up. Only one remark about our waiter: he forgot to bring our side orders and they came after finishing our mains.

It was delicious. The starter, main course and dessert were all wonderful. It was the day after it had been announced that they had got their Michelin star, so the place was packed and staff weren't managing too well. Didn't harm the evening's experience.

Would I go again?? NO. And that was just because of the most dreadful service I have ever had. The food is absolutely fantastic... but the service ruined it. Plates given to the wrong guests, wine not kept chilled as they deemed there was not enough in the bottle to do so.... nearly a glass full & then we were told we had finished it! Arms serving came across our faces, when asked for a regular knife to use for pheasant one of our guests was kept given a steak knife.... staff weren't listening or didn't understand... but either way it was a simple request. We traveled quite a distance to go to Locks as we frequent Pearl quite a bit. I think we will stick to Pearl. What a shame and such a let down and an embarrassment.

Very good experience! The atmosphere was very cosy, and I specially enjoyed the fact that there was room in between the tables (you barely see this anymore). I had a starter of salmon, that was good, but it wasn't a surprising taste. I expected the decorative colored salsas, sprinkled around the plate to be more exciting. As a main, I had cannelloni, which was amazing! The blue cheese filling had the perfect consistency, and the cannelloni dough had been cooked to the right point.

One of my favourite restaurants that little bit out of the city center. I love that it's right by the canal and you can watch the swans as you eat. Plates are not huge but quality is high and the earlybird is great value for a Michelin starred restaurant.

Delicious meal from beginning to end. Small menu, but each choice sounding delicious. 22 euro treat menu is a steal!
