Hlanganini Elephant Bull
This was one of the last images with both his tusks Dec 2008. He broke one tusk in  March 2009 and thereafter at the age of +- 53 he was killed by another Elephant Bull
Quote: In August of 2009 when Hlanganini’s largely decomposed carcass was discovered, it was with sorrow that rangers realised this old bull had not gone peacefully, but in a brutal battle for dominance. Puncture wounds were found to have cracked his skull and the positioning of his body showed how this great tusker had fallen to his knees and died, defeated.

Another shot of this big Tuskers

Masthulele, meaning ‘the quiet one’ currently one of the largest tuckers in the Kruger. General: This bulls name is very appropriate he lives up to the ‘quiet one’ reputation by being seldom seen, and had only been photographed twice at the time of naming.
