Suzanne Fyhrie Parrott began her career with Sage Advertising in 1985. Within two years she successfully converted the traditional art department into a computer graphics department when computer graphic design was in its infancy and the Internet wasn’t even a word. The frontier was new, so like Lincoln, she is self taught – starting on programs such as PageMaker 1.0, and Freehand 1.0.
In 1988, she established OneWay Advertising and Design
With a burning desire to write, she co-founded Unruly Guides
in 2010, as a way to communicate her travels in the exploding e-book world. Parrott has written several technical e-books and articles over the course of her career including Trails.com, Affiliate Marketing Magazine, and her businesses. But she kept looking toward the YA fiction horizon. UG became a means to communicate and share knowledge of marketing, design and formatting with authors as she, too, pursued her writing career.
Parrott has a degree in art from the University of Washington (1981). Her clientele have included Yellowstone Park, Winston Fly Rod Company and Montana Power Company, which she won several Montana Addy awards for artistic creation. When not writing, Parrott enjoys painting, drawing, traveling and taking walks on the beach with her husband, looking for fossils and agates.
