Should you take the latest security scare seriously? I do, and here are the steps I am taking.

It's true, people don't read - wink

I learned a lot from this article - there were a lot of great pieces in Eater's "Pizza Week 2014" series - I'm still catching up! This was a particularly good and mouthwatering post. I was unaware of the entire network of relationships that spawned from Lombardi's! So much to learn, so many more pizzas to experience ...life is good

Back to the novelty hell from whence you came - another fun pizza article! I am neutral on "bagel pizza" but I have to co-sign on the condemnation of "pizza cones." smh

Avery Fisher Hall - a little earlier tonight. I got free tix from a friend at work so we got to see the ny philharmonic. Something different! The program (Britten, bartok, Shostakovich) was a bit challenging in parts but mostly interesting and what do I know. We enjoyed it and I give it a thumb

Fixing THE WALKING DEAD - I gave up on both the tv show and the comic book about six months ago, I explained to a co-worker who asked me earlier this afternoon. Both had fallen into a rut of predictability or foot dragging that I I didn't have time for any more. Before I quit, however, I arrogantly came up with ways to fix both (I had been worked up with drink at the time, six months ago) ...

Spoilers may follow, depending on how far you are into either series.

the comic book - Negan seemed to be a Governor v. 2 and I couldn't help but feel that the conflict would basically climax with some upsetting casualties before resetting a period before introducing the next Governor. Yawn!

My fix would be to raise that conflict to a fever pitch ...then ship nothing for a month. The following month, the first page of the issue reads: "Five Years Later ..." The lone survivor is Carl (five years older), and the handful of other characters are completely new. Occasional flashbacks slowly reveal what transpired in the missing years ...

the tv show - ok, so Glenn and Maggie survive Governor-ville and make it back to Prison-ville. But what we didn't know is that they had been turned - brainwashed! to serve the cause of the Governor. As moles, they scope out prison-ville for weaknesses and regularly commit increasingly significant acts of sabotage ...

...Carl, ever eager to prove his worth as a defender of the homestead, shrugs off Rick's overprotective warnings and begins patrolling the grounds at odd hours. He stumbles on Glenn tampering with some aspect of security (this could be as simple as tearing out wires of a recently fixed video surveillance hookup, or loosening the chain-linked fence). So Glenn kills him...

...anyway, I know I am a minority opinion here and pretty jaded about a lot of things. Still, it's an interesting exercise to propose alternatives in addition to grousing. The key is Carl! Maybe I'll give the show and comic another shot in 2015

Birthday - I dislike the harsh head-on flash of my phone but sometimes second-hand flash looks ok. Next up, a photo of a person taking a photo of another person taking a photo
