Pleasant cafe, nice food and looks out onto a beautiful cobbled street. Notably, also serves a good all-day vegetarian English breakfast.

This is about the only cafe in the town centre that isn't consistently packed-out on the weekends. It's not bad, either, and it's vegetarian menu is great.

We ordered a cake there today with my wife and the cream in the cake was clearly rancid. We told the waitress about it and they ignored our complaint for about five minutes and then the manager came and asked us about it with a very rude attitude claiming that he bought the cake this morning and it should be OK. Neither the manager nor the waitress didn't even consider an apology. They asked if we wanted something else, but after seeing their behavior we left there not to ever come back again.

Served a disgusting soggy microwaved potato and a filthy side salad full of dirt and insects. waitress (italian I think) was incredibly rude throughout. I would rather starve, than there again.

Very average food, avoid the sausages, tasted like offal! Coffee was ok...

Cake was dry, food is out of the freezer box, coffee is good though as is outside seating (though cold). As usual for UK eateries, the 'English" breakfast was re-heated frozen Asda stock. Potato squares, soggy veggie sausages, you get the picture. There are enough staff, but they are surly for the most part. If you can, skip this place.

This place has gone seriously downhill since I was growing up. The service was terrible with the staff alternating between ignorant and rude. I got the feeling they regarded customers as a hinderance. As for the food, I went for a basic potato with beans and cheese. The potato was lukewarm and very small and the toppings looked like they'd been thrown on. Plus I was given diet instead of normal coke. It is really sad to see this once great Cambridge institution has gone downhill. I won't be going again.
