My love for theater began when I was a child. My dad was always
involved in various forms of artistic expression. Some of my earliest
memories are watching my dad on stage. Then I was introduced to
musicals. OH the joys of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Irving Berlin, George
Gershwin and Cole Porter. I could spend hours watching these movie
musicals. Once at FSHA I was overjoyed to discover a thriving theater
arts program. I took every opportunity to be a part of that wonderful
community. Thanks to my teachers I learned about the stage. When I was
asked to direct the St. Philip Drama Club program I was overjoyed. I
hadn't really done anything since high school so I was nervous to be in
charge of an entire production. Thank goodness St. Philips is blessed
with teachers like Mrs. Simone and Mr. W who both have experience on the
stage through dance and stage craft respectively! I feel that after
about 5 years of collaboration the three of us make a great team and St.
Philip's has a drama program to be proud of.
