Did you know that the EPA’s Environmental Education Web Workgroup (EEWW) meets monthly to evaluate web sites (potentially yours) to supplement the EPA’s environmental education Web content? Per Eco Scout, it’s true as long as the site meets strict quality criteria, fills gaps in educational content, and is approved by the EEWW. Here's the link to the full article which includes the criteria and how to submit your Web site straight from the EEWW:  http://www.marketingeco.com/submit-your-web-site-to-the-environmental-education-web-workgroup

Ahhh... It's International +Karen Hutton Day! Photographer, actor, raconteur.

I first found +Karen Hutton inside of our Clubhouse Forums on the site... she was lurking about, being all chatty-cathy and stuff... I read that IRL she does voice acting. That was so interesting to me that I filed it away... and then I came up with the perfect project for her, and it worked out amazing. She helped us to get the #2 app in the travel category being the unbeatable Google Earth! Anyway, she made this behind-the-scenes video I'm happy to share with you. Don't miss her on +Thomas Hawk 's upcoming show soon... !

I earnestly hope that other social networks will follow and make a positive difference by their example. This is cool!

The one sad thing to me is that Facebook made the change due to pressure from Greenpeace. I think B Corporations (www.bcorporation.net) are cooler because B Corps make the decision at the outset to commit to solving social and environmental problems and go through voluntary onsite reviews to assess their progress. It would be even cooler if Facebook became a B Corp and it was a company commitment to help the planet, rather than a cave to pressure. :^/

I love this photo. My wild imagination sees docked spaceships, but earnestly it's the whole composition that draws me in.

Schweres #Unwetter   über #Hamburg ? - Zugegeben eine etwas reißerische Überschrift. Allerdings hatte man zum Zeitpunkt als dieses #Foto entstand kurzzeitig eine Vorstellung vom #weltuntergang .

Marketing Eco, that's me! The Legal Investigator is a very fun publication to work on and I'm honored to have handled the rebranding and subsequent issues. :)

"Since September 2010, Marketing Eco has enjoyed managing the The Legal Investigator (TLI) magazine’s design, desktop publishing, and copywriting intro blurbs for the National Association of Legal Investigators (NALI). Marketing Eco handled rebranding the publication for the launch of its new look in the Fall of 2010 and has continued to create high impact graphics for articles and magazine cover. Editors and authors of TLI are legal investigators and members of the NALI. Check out full issues of TLI on marketingeco.com here: http://bit.ly/Rn66Hu"

Wow, Soluto makes managing family computers slick. Right now you can support up to 5 computers for free for personal use. Check it out:

Are you the family CTO? Check out Soluto

As seen on Techcrunch: http://techcrunch.com/2011/12/13/are-you-the-family-cto-a-new-soluto-aims-to-...

This new version of Soluto helps turn the family's CTO into a one-person help desk. You can take care of your family member's PCs just with a click of the button. It is quite cool and here founder +Roee Adler shows me how it works.

Interactive marketing and improving the sustainability and environmental impact of individual businesses and global trade is my primary focus, with a new area of research being the integration of new discoveries in quantum physics toward the same end.
Story
Tagline
Owner and Chief Digital Creative Director, MarketingEco.com
Introduction

As a kid I was always wowed by what scientists and engineers could do, like putting men on the moon, studying tornadoes by creating small ones in glass cases (Dad brought Tetsuya Fujita a wind velocity meter and I got to tag along to the lab and a very thoughtful Mr. Fujita started up the mini tornado for me), and creating cool gadgets. Mixed in with that I was also a little artist and budding nature lover.

I'm still a kid scientist, artist, and eco scout at heart, curious about how things work, ever tempted to try make things (mostly websites and interactive stuff these days), still wishing for my first robot, reading everything I can get my hands on about the cool things that are being discovered by quantum physicists, piling unused canvases, an easel, and art supplies in a sacred corner of my condo, and my gray matter working out ways to help nudge our global economy in the earth-healthy directions. The fascination with tornadoes didn't go away either. I just renewed my SkyWarn Spotter status so I can call in reportables to the National Weather Service again. :^D

Career

As an adult I entered the international, interactive marketing world in 1990 at NOW Technologies, then started my own interactive marketing business in March 1999. I rebranded my interactive work as Marketing Eco in May 2009 with the mission of helping businesses improve their corporate responsibility in earth friendly and sustainable ways.

Specialties

Interactive marketing, SEO, social media marketing, podcast / videocast publishing, ebook publishing, sustainable, eco-friendly business practices, corporate responsibility, corporate identity, branding, advertising, web development, copywriting, desktop publishing.

Favorite Challenges

At Intel I developed a content, quality assurance, and geo delivery process for Intel IT Flex team which ensured that teams localizing content overseas were receiving content in the format they needed for translation. The improved format and faster delivery time of my plan gave the European teams more time to localize content. The European teams gave me special recognition for researching their needs and driving the implementation of process improvement. I have to say, I love to make a positive difference, but I think my favorite part was working with people all over the world and thereby helping globally. I also received special recognition for the creative website content that I developed for product launches and feature stories, which was the primary focus of my contract at Intel. All the years of marketing, my interest in techie things, and my being a natural story teller kind of came together there. The copy I wrote for Intel's Business Enterprise website about the launch of Execute Disable Bit and Enterprise Security is still being used by Intel (updated of course, since I wrote the original copy back in 2004-2005), and was also used by Microsoft on their website. That was a thrill for a techie geek like me. :^)

At The Walter Mobility Group, Inc., I develop the marketing media that's helped the company to attract partners during the ongoing research and development phase. Now my Walter Group colleagues and I are bringing The Walter Group into the social media realm. In the future, we hope to bring The Walter Group's super neat vertical takeoff vehicle to market. It's similar to a hovercraft, but without skirts, so more like a Star Wars land speeder. What could be cooler than that? Maybe an opportunity to explore Google+? Absolutely!!

Google+

Life is an amazing and ever intriguing journey, and especially now that I'm lucky enough to be trying out Goole+ in the field study. I'm looking forward to another adventure. :^D
