"Will people look at you blankly or maybe step away or change the subject when you start discussing how the laws of thermodynamics would apply when Mr Darcy’s shirt is all wet from diving into that pond in Pride and Prejudice? Or how the opening line is phrased as a kind of universal axiom implying that the steady state of early 19th century upper-class English society is a pairing of men in possession of good fortunes with wives? "

Hello, friends! This Saturday at 100 Minutes War, I plan to spend most of the day parked in a corner of the lodge with a ton of instruments and sheet music. All are welcome to join in! Please come and play (or sing) with me, and feel free to ping me off-list if you have any questions.

It's exactly the combo you'd think it would be, in Little Alchemy. Hee!

Yeah, a portable Ingress charger would be awfully nice...

Another ID challenge for the heralds! Of course I went straight to Talbot, but no one by that name seems to match this exactly -- anyone know who this belongs to?

"All known references and allusions to Shakespeare, his family, and his writings, almost entirely from his own lifetime."

Bonjour mes amis!

On Wednesday, Feb. 24, starting at 7pm, I'll be hosting an open performers' circle for singers, storytellers, poets, etc. at Ye Olde Baronial Estate in Glenside, PA. All are welcome, and I'd particularly like to focus on folks interested in getting some practice time and feedback before K&Q Bardic next month. This is a great opportunity to try out your entry pieces on a smaller audience!

Please feel free to spread the word. I'd appreciate RSVPs if at all possible, so I know how many chairs we'll need! Keep in mind that we are a non-smoking but cat-owning household. Contact me off-list for the street address, or if you have any questions.

Your servant and that of the East,
Sabine de Kerbriant

Hello, all! I'm relatively new. I'm based in Abington, but spend a lot of time in NE Philly and some down towards Media. I've just set up a GroupMe account.

Murder Ballads house concert at the Baronial Estate! You're warmly invited to come hear the amazing Murder Ballads, fresh off their appearance as Philcon Musical Guest of Honor, at our house in Glenside on Sunday Nov. 22, doors opening at 6:30.

Murder Ballads is the usually-acoustic duo of Catt Kingsgrave and Adam Fromm, two songwriters from Texas and Illinois respectively, who somehow converged in the American Northeast to join forces and influences. Murder Ballads’ sound is an eclectic blend of whatever strikes their fancy: sincere folk originals, bluesified treatments of Anglo-Celtic standards, reimaginings of favorites in whatever genres they have lying around, trips through cockeyed humor, and yes, the occasional actual murder ballad. More information about Murder Ballads can be found on their website: http://murder-ballads.com

Hey friends! +Paul Butler and I are performing at The Dovetail Artisans for Glenside's First Friday celebration this coming Friday, Sept. 4, from 6 to 8pm. We'll be playing some of our favorite medieval, Renaissance, and folk tunes on winds and strings, in a shop stuffed full of really marvelous handcrafted gifts and craft goods -- hope to see you there! (and yes, we'll be doing our best to forget that a certain Rondelay member is lounging by the sea, taking in gorgeous Greek vistas while we toil without her... )
