I grew up in the Washington DC area and went to The Sidwell Friends School from kindergarten to 12th grade. It is the former school of Chelsea Clinton, Al Gore Jr., The Roosevelts and the Nixons and the current school of the Obama daughters and Biden grandchildren.
In the fall of 2003 I entered Duke University and was a member of the Women's Volleyball team. My only semester at Duke I made the Duke Dean's List.
I soon transferred to UCLA in the winter of 2004 where I became a 2 time NCAA All American Volleyball player. I also was a part of the UCLA Track and Field team as a high jumper. At UCLA I made the UCLA Director's Honor Roll and was honored by the NCAA and PAC 10 for my accomplishments in the classroom numerous semesters. I majored in Political Science, with a foucs on International Relations and was class of 2007.
I went on to play professional volleyball in Puerto Rico for the Mayaguez Indias. Following I traveled to Colorado Springs to train at the Olympic Training Center for the 2008 Olympics.
I soon after began studying as a Post Baccalaureate premed graduate student at USC in fall of 2009. I finished the program in spring 2011, took my MCAT exam in the summer and I am currently applying to medical school.
Placing as high as 1st runner up in 2010, I participated in the Miss California USA pageant starting in 2007. I have held the titles of Miss Malibu, Miss Beverly Hills and Miss Los Angeles. After finishing my post graduate studies in California, I moved back home to Maryland and competed for the title of Miss Maryland USA 2012 in October of 2011. I won and will be competing for Donald Trump's Miss USA 2012, June 3, 2012, live on NBC.
I co founded a 501 (c) (3) international non profit organization The Meriwether Foundation that supports rural clinics, schools, orphanages, agricultural and community projects in 5 countries of Southern Africa.
