It was very moving for me and my musicians to take part in this morning's broadcast on France Musique. We are excited to be able to perform "The Big Picture" at La Cigale on Saturday as part of the Jazz n' Klezmer festival. Nous sommes ici à Paris avec vous tous !!!

Here's my blog piece about the great New Orleans jazz master Sidney Bechet. He's one of my great heroes & over the years I've found interesting, new ways to pay homage to him. Hope you enjoy the video of "Si Tu Vois Ma Mere": an amazing new film by NY graphics giants, Light of Day. This is part of "The Big Picture", which has its last show tomorrow, 2pm.

I’m very excited about the upcoming performance of "The Big Picture" in New York  on Oct 14 & 18th, and in Europe in November. The show is divided into several major themes, and one of them is a tribute to great Jewish figures in American show business. Here are some thoughts on why I chose these particular films and pieces of music.

In all of his films, Woody Allen’s sensibility for me is somehow quintessentially Jewish regardless of the subject matter. I chose three pieces of music for TheBig Picture from three of Woody’s most beloved films.

The moment in my project The Big Picture that touches on immigration is one of the cornerstones of the show and is personally incredibly important to me. As a second (and a half) generation/totally ensconced American, I try to never take for granted the incredible hardships that my grand parents and my great grandparents went through to immigrate to the US. For me it's incredibly sobering to think about their struggles in light of what millions of refugees around the globe are going through right at this moment.
