I stopped in because I was in the area. I was amazed at this place, wish you had something like this in Albany area. I felt so bad I didn't have tools, almost went to Harbor Freight but I'll be back. Two hours may be worth the trip. I work on older cars and it is a struggle to get parts sometimes. The prices are great and the few yards here charge 3-4X yours and don't have nearly the selection. A bumper or body panel could be over $100 just to ship. Damn, you should open a place like this in Albany, it would be a goldmine! You are the closest!

Don't let them fool you. Make sure that the guy who is checking your toolbox is marking every single piece that you are bringing with you. Today I found myself in a stupid situation, when the guy on check-in told me that I'm OK to go. An hour later another one on check-out required me to pay for small junk from my tool box that belonged to me like a burned light bulb, some wires, door lock cylinder, or lug-nuts just because they did not have the marks on them. Apparently this is their way of doing their business. Fortunately that was something that was not costly so I gave these things to this guy and went home. What if I had something valuable with me? Then I would have to pay for stuff that belongs to me. I'm not trusting them any more, and I don't want you to be in the similar situation.

Oleg, We value all of the comments we receive here on facebook. We always love to hear of good experiences and look to improve and grow from those that are from an unsatisfied customer. I understand your frustration. As a convenience to customers we offer to mark your parts upon entering the yard in the case that you are trying to match something up. We do our best to greet each customer and check each toolbox on the way in. Upon leaving the yard at checkout the “marks” we put on the parts are the only way we have to distinguish between customer parts and what parts are from the yard. The person checking you out was following the procedures that we have set in place. We acknowledge that there are exceptions to every rule and our managers are available to help in such situations. I enjoy going to Gary's, Excellent customer service and the prices are pretty reasonable.Overall its the place to go for affordable and cheap parts

This is a huge junkyard, maybe a little too big for its own good. Prices are very fair and reasonable and you can find almost anything here. The only downsides are that there are very few foreign cars (which isn't their fault, since it's more of a reflection of the area) and that cars there are barely cataloged. Certain car models aren't always in their designated lots. You can't fault them for this (these aren't exactly library books that can be re-shelved), but I'd recommend calling ahead to see if they have your car in stock and allotting an hour or two to visit (trust me, you'll need that much time to roam their lot). Oh, and don't forget your tools!
