Wow! I haven't been on Google + in ages! Most of my social media time involves Facebook and my Cerebral Faith Twitter account. Anyway, I thought I'd get on here to inform those in my circle who may not know me on Facebook or Twitter about my new (and first) book which was released a few weeks ago. It's called "Inference To The One True God: Why I Believe In Jesus Instead Of Other Gods".

The book argues for the existence of God, but unlike other books, my book isn't primarily concerned with just answering the question "DOES God exist?" but "WHICH God exists?" This is a question frequently posed by atheists? Why do we claim that the Christian God is real while dismissing all others as myths? This is the question I seek to answer in the book.

I do so by this method: First I give an argument for the existence of God (e.g The Kalam Cosmological Argument), then after giving a basic defense, I'll address the most common and potent objections detractors pose to the argument, but then once I establish that the argument is sound, I'll examine each of the world's deities to see which one is consistent with the conclusion the Natural Theology Argument gave us.

You see, each argument in Natural Theology, should the argument's premises be established, lead to the conclusion that a being exists which bares certain properties. The properties derived will differ from argument to argument. For example, The Kalam Cosmological Argument, if it's a sound argument, leads to the conclusion that a non-spatial, non-temporal, immaterial, uncaused, powerful, personal Creator brought the universe into being a finite time ago. The Ontological Argument, if it's sound, leads to the conclusion that an omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, necesarilly existent, morally perfect being exists in the actual world.

In the book, I examine the various deities of the world religions to see which ones are consistent with a being with properties as described above. The conclusion might surprise you. Contrary to what many atheists on the internet will tell you, these theistic arguments cannot "be used to argue for just any god".

The book is available on Amazon.com in both paperback and Kindle. I hope that you'll read this book whether you're a spiritual seeker, a hardened skeptic, or a Christian.

Is there any good evidence supporting the central claim of the Christian faith that Jesus died on a cross and rose from the dead? Are there good reasons to believe Jesus rose from the dead or does on have to accept the resurrection on blind faith? Tonight, Christian Apologist and blogger Evan Minton lays out a historical and evidential case for the resurrection.

Does belief in God require a blind leap of faith, or can there be a good solid rational foundation for belief in His existence? Evan Minton of the blog Cerebral Faith, in a two night event, gives a live presentation on two of the most powerful arguments for the existence of God; The Kalam Cosmological Argument, and The Fine Tuning Argument, where he answers in the affirmative to the latter question. Yes, there is a good solid basis for belief in God.

This is night 2 of the event.

July 22nd and July 23rd, I will be hosting a Google+ Hangout On Air session giving two talks on The Kalam Cosmological and The Fine Tuning argument (one of the various teleological arguments or design arguments).

Okay, guys. The debate between me and Anthony B has been cancelled. Not postponed, cancelled. It just seems like more trouble than its worth. We just can’t seem to get together no matter how hard we try, and I lost interest with every postponement made. I thought about giving it one more shot, but then after thinking about it, I’ve decided to bail. This would have been 5 postponements now if I decided to give this another shot. It’s just not working out.

I plan on doing a hangout session by myself doing a presentation of these two arguments that we planned on debating over…in order to make up for the debate that never happened. I don’t know when it’ll be. But I’ll keep you guys posted.
