Jewellers Quickly Re-Let
The former Maze Jewellers at 39 High Street Uckfield has been quickly re-let by Lawson Commercial to W E Clark Jewellers from Lewes and Eastbourne. This will be their third outlet. After a short period of refitting they hope to be open well

Offices Let For Children's Nursery at Falmer Court, Uckfield
Lawson Commercial have let the former Roundabout Nursery premises at Falmer Court, just off London Road, Uckfield to a company from Lewes who run an existing children's nursery in Lewes. After refurbishing the building they will re-open as a children's day nursery. The two interconnecting suites with a rear garden area comprise just over 1,000 sq ft + parking. With all the new housing that is proposed for the Uckfield area there is going to be a need for additional nursery facilities and we are very pleased to have encouraged a business from outside the area to open a second branch in Uckfield and maintain this important service.

Vehicle Sales Site Let on A22
Lawson Commercial have let the former GMA Commercials vehicle sales site on the main A22 at Lower Dicker. This site occupies some 0.45 acres and offers excellent vehicle display mainly within a secure palisade fence with just under 20,000 sq ft of display plus a valeting building.

The site has been let to Chandlers BMW. A modification to the planning was required to allow not only commercial vehicles but also cars to be displayed and sold. Chandlers have a substantial BMW and Mini showroom on the Diplocks Way industrial estate at Hailsham but needed additional display space to enable the business to grow.

Swallow Set To Fly at Lower Dicker
Following the successful completion of the new headquarters for Vacgen on the Swallow Business Park at Lower Dicker construction is now at an advanced stage for the first building in Phase 2.

Ten plus units are being built and will be ready for occupation in Spring 2018. The steel frame is going up and once that is finished the cladding will be fairly rapid. Good weather over the summer has helped the builders get on with the foundation works.

Units are on offer from 1,570 sq ft and there are a variety of combinations available for those that want more space as it this stage it is simply a case of moving dividing walls. Rapid Construction at Ashdown Business Park in Maresfield
Following completion of the sale of Site 5, Ashdown Business Park, Maresfield at the end of June this year construction has really been rapid. The new building for Gunnebo Entrance Controls Ltd UK Headquarters is moving swiftly ahead. The steel frame is already going up which is very fast bearing in mind work only started a couple of months ago.

We knew that the building schedule was going to be tight because Gunnebo need to be installed in their new building by March 2018. Bearing in mind the size of building and the works involved this seemed quite a tall order. However the builders are working really fast. The foundation works were completed swiftly taking advantage of some good weather in August and the steel frame is now well advanced.

There is currently strong interest being shown in a number of the other sites still available. The smallest of these is Site 9.2 which is 0.44 acres and has planning consent for 2 units each of 3,000 sq ft which could be constructed as one building. A price of £345,000 + VAT is being sought. These sites are fully serviced with all utilities available in the adopted service road.

Guitar Shop Comes to Uckfield
Lawson Commercial have let 6 Church Street in Uckfield to Peter Willingale trading as Guitar House. Peter is passionate about guitars both electric and acoustic and offers a very personal service. This character shop comprises a ground floor retail area with 2 floors above totalling some 454 sq ft and recently traded as a hair & beauty salon. The shop has been refurbished and Peter offers a comprehensive selection of guitars catering for all abilities. It is great to see a shop which is a little different coming to Uckfield and this location is ideal for such niche products and there is plenty of free parking close by.

Trotting along with the Uckfield Carnival

Lawson Commercial were once again please to trotting along with the Uckfield Carnival last Saturday as Sammy Swan took to the streets in support of this worthy cause. This year the Uckfield Bonfire Society celebrated its 190th anniversary.

Sammy took most of Saturday to preen himself ready for the occasion.

By evening he was ready to go and waiting in line.

Under starter's orders.

A welcome break at the top of the Town ready for the final parade down the High Street.

And it’s 3rd place for Sammy in the Trade Section. Well done Sammy!!

Former Crowborough Care at Home Premises Goes Back To Estate Agents
The former Care at Home premises in The Broadway, Crowborough have been let with the use reverting to an estate agents. Banfields who are currently in the High Street are moving to these more prominent and larger premises known as The Estate Office. This most attractive shop has a ground floor of 520 sq ft with 2 offices and very good window display plus a 1st floor office, kitchen & cloakroom giving just under 700 sq ft overall. The building also benefits from car parking at the rear. We are very pleased to have helped a local business in the Town that wanted to expand. Following some redecoration Banfields hope to be open in these new premises very shortly.
