World Robot Olympiad (WRO) is coming to Foster City!

Love LEGO Robotics? Form a team to compete in the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) state tournament taking place in Foster City, CA on Saturday, August 16th.

The World Robot Olympiad (WRO) is an event for science, technology and education which brings together young people to develop their creativity and problem solving skills through challenging and educational robotics competitions. This year’s theme is Robots and Space.

Top teams from the state tournament in Foster City have the opportunity to advance to the USA National Competition and top USA Nationals teams will advance to the WRO Final in Sochi, Russia!

For more information and 2014 rules & resources, visit The  tournament taking place in Foster City is open to kids ages 8-12.

To form a team, you need one coach and 2-3 team members, and there is a one-time team registration fee of $70 (non-refundable) plus a $30 check-in fee. Additional information on team registration and costs are described here:

Thanks for the photos Hemanth! Great experience - extremely cold. These events are monthly .. will send out reminders for a few months. Next time, let's take our down filled snow weather hooded jacket!

As Hemanth has done, you can mount your smart phone on these telescopes to get a nice picture of celestial objects.

Are you joining us at CSM on May 10th Saturday night at 8PM to view the night sky with their rooftop telescopes? Kids can see first quarter of moon, Mars & more.  (sorry for the wrong date earlier)
