As an owner I can say we make every effort to keep a clean and friendly place for all to visit. I am commenting now on one of the posts which stated that the Tuesday morning stick time is very crowded. At any time a stick time can be crowded based on normal participation, special groups, or days off school. Actually the Monday and Tuesday morning stick times as well as the summer only Saturday 6am times are not heavily attended. I know because I am usually at most of those. Occasionally on an odd day everyone shows up but that is not generally the case. I do hope you show up to say hi. Steve

If I could rate the Sherwood Ice Arena 100 stars, I would. This is now my most favorite place around. I wanted to plan a surprise for my husband for our 5 year anniversary, and I thought of a romantic idea to rent out a skating rink for the two of us about a week before our anniversary. I wrote to all the different skating complex's around... and only Michael Ford from Sherwood Ice Arena wrote back. He not only wrote me back, but he was willing to fit in my plans into his schedule and accommodate my needs even though the arena was booked every day! He wanted to do everything possible to help my idea to work for us, and to him I am so thankful and will forever be grateful for his kindness. Our anniversary was AMAZING because of Michael, and because of all the staff at Sherwood Ice Arena. When we got there, he had our skates waiting for us with a personalized Happy Anniversary card, the staff gave us free cookies and hot chocolate, they played a CD for us in the rink while we were skating that I had made, and they even gave us the option to skate with the lights off and disco lights going to make it more romantic for us. I even left flowers there with Michael to give to my husband when we got there and he kept them for me until we got there and brought them out for him. It ended up being so much more than I had expected, and the kindness there filled my heart and still leaves me smiling to this day! Staff came up to us and congratulated us all day and offered us nice comments, and the atmosphere was so friendly and loving. The kindness that existed here was so amazing. It is only places like this, with people like this, that make life more amazing and dreams come true! We had the most amazing and unforgettable day because Michael chose to take time for us out of his busy schedule, instead of merely writing us off. THANK YOU SO MUCH Michael Ford, and all the staff at Sherwood Ice Arena! We will definitely be visiting you again! :D If you have not been to this arena, you should-- because it is not kindness like this that you see every day! Also, the skating rink is very large and really nice to skate on, with a wonderful sound system to listen to music while you skate. :)

This place is cold! I've come here to watch hockey games and wish I would have worn more layers -- jeans, galoshes and a coat don't cut it. There was plenty of room for the parents to heckle the ref and the parents of players on the opposing team. If you come here to observe a game, layer up and bring a blanket to sit on because the bleachers are cold.

My girlfriend is an avid ice skater and we've tried all of the rinks around the area, but this is hands down our favorite. The ice here is always well maintained and the staff are helpful and friendly. We also very much enjoy the late night public sessions where there are lights and good music. I also chose Sherwood as the place to propose to my girlfriend. I emailed Michael and he was extremely helpful in getting things set up. I arrived and everything went exactly according to plan. All of the staff came out afterward and congratulated us. They all really made our experience magical and we will remember that day for the rest of our lives.

The stick time on Tuesday morning is very crowded. They have a high level clinic that takes up one third of the ice. The middle third is usually taken up by small kids and their coaches (dads ?) skating across. So the rest of us (sometimes 10 or more skaters) are left with the remaining third of the ice and one net. Not a lot of fun. How about we pay one third of the fees then? Public skating on the other hand is often the opposite. Lots of space, no invasive lessons that would take up room and an option of skating the last hour only for a reduced fee.

I've played in leagues at Valley, Mountain View, and Sherwood. I have to say Sherwood is by far the best rink in the area! Very well organized and the ice is great! Oh and the guys at the pro shop always have a solution to my problems. Thanks guys!
