Our first visit to Cologne, was a very short one. We only stopped to visit the world famous cathedral in between trains, and since the monumental building is right next to the station, we even had time to wonder a bit around. We left thinking that one day we will see more of this German city.

As we took the train from Innsbruck to Bern, the sun was smiling once more. It was the second clear day on our Christmas Market tour with ACPRail and we were even more impressed with the beauty of the area near Innsbruck than we were the previous day. The Innsbruck train station was surrounded ...

We love it when we stumble upon something that is clearly off the beaten path. Or something that is rather a well guarded local secret. And this is precisely how we felt in Nuremberg, while staying at Steichele Hotel & Weinrestaurant. The hotel is two underground stops away from the train ...

As the train rushed through the Alps, I must admit I was a bit disappointed. The fog was diminishing the beauty of my favourite mountains and no snow was in sight. We had been exploring Europe with an Interrail Pass from ACPRail for more than two weeks now and though the trip had been absolutely ...

Stuttgart might be first and foremost famous for its automotive industry, with both Porsche and Mercedes-Benz having their headquarters and museums here, but on our recent visit we discovered a more informal city, filled with glee and a Christmas spirit hard to match.

December is a magical time to visit Europe. You will find cozy Christmas markets, ice rings, tons of decorations and charmingly lit cities. Ice sculptures? Not so much. Most of Europe's climate is too mild for hosting an outdoor snow and ice festival. Nevertheless, this has not stopped the folks ...

Bern is one of the most delicious small capitals in the world. Lovely fountains, cute bears and fondue... What's there not to like? On our latest European tour we stopped in Bern for a couple of days. Our visit was long due, and we were happy to return. The first time we visited Bern, ...

Introduction
Traveler, photographerbloggerart and animal lover, with a degree in psychology, interested in cultural anthropology, exploring life and the world together with my husband, who is also my favorite travel companion.

You can see my travel photos and read about my trips on Travelocafe.com

Things that make me happy: waking up in a new place, flowers, art, nature, kitty cats, laughter, friends, taking pictures, good design, good food.

My travel philosophy:  I see traveling as food for the soul, because it enriches us as people. Traveling should not be a hassle but the ultimate Zen experience. Traveling is one of the best ways to build life-lasting memories. Traveling is best done in two. I travel to grow up, wake up, discover charming little villages as well as great ideas. I find beach holidays boring and lacking romance, I mean, what can be romantic about sand, sweat and sunburns? Mountains and lakes are my favorite. And my favorite cities are Tokyo and Paris.

I believe there is a right time and a right place for everything; that nobody can jump over their own shadow. I believe that we all have the right to happiness and that happiness is the natural state of the mind. I believe in humanity. I believe in love. I believe in freedom of speech. I believe little miracles do happen. I believe French is the sexiest language on Earth, and if I could travel back in time I would go to the Paris of the 1920’s and get myself drunk on champagne in Montparnasse in one of those literary cafés that silly law of fin de siècle that prohibited private gatherings made so popular. I believe everybody looks pretty with a smile on their face. I believe laughter is the best calorie burner. I believe Switzerland is the image of heaven on Earth.
