Stariski Campground is located at milepost 152 along the Sterling Highway between Anchor Point and Homer Alaska. $12.00 per night is the best deal you will get on a million dollar view of Cook Inlet. Eagles fly bight by your campsite too.

What a great challenge with a win/win scenario.

Today at an event with President Obama, we announced the Little Box Challenge, a $1 million prize to develop the next generation of power inverters. This prize is one of Google’s many efforts to advance a clean energy future. We have a goal of powering our operations with 100% renewable energy, and to that end have contracted over a gigawatt of wind energy for our data centers. Beyond powering our own operations, we’ve also committed over $1 billion to 16 renewable energy projects around the world. Keep an eye on www.littleboxchallenge.com for more information in the coming months!

This has to be read completely before the title makes any sense. Funny how this appeared in my mail the same day this was being spoken about as we were preparing to interview new candidates for employment.
Stephanie is a mother of two kids and recently had enough. She wrote and eye-opening public confession on her blog... after I saw it, I totally agree with her.

e of our favorite camping areas along the George Parks Highway. Montana Creek offers electric hookups for RV's but no water or sewer. Excellent fishing all through the summer and well into the fall for salmon, trout and grayling too.

Really got close to this bad boy. There were so many eagles on the beach yesterday it was an absolute photographers dream.

For years we passed right on by Stariski Campground but this time we decided to stop and check out the views. The panoramic views were breathtaking; needless to say we stayed here for the night. Do yourself right, stop and see for yourself the amazing views of Cook Inlet from Stariski Campground.

Will our homes and autos soon generate their own power?
"Because it is extremely thin, could potentially be used to coat structures or even windows without getting in the way".
Solar power could soon be used directly in the manufacture of new solar cells, making production of a key chemical require zero energy.

Campsites are level, hard packed gravel with manicured grass and lots of trees.

When we're looking to get away and enjoy some relaxing time in Homer we often make our way to Bishops Beach in old town Homer. This is a nice area to relax, walk on the beach and have a quiet walk on the new Beluga Slough trail that is accessed from the parking lot. Been coming here for some 30 years and never get tired of it. When you're in Homer, give some thought to visiting Bishops Beach.

Without any doubt some are confusing this place with the one run by the previous owners, This revitalized is the RV park, with cabins and wall tents that is without any doubt one of the highlights of the entire Alaska highway experience. As for courtesy, the owner makes sure you are happy, comfortable and satisfied with your stay. There FREE walking museum of actual vehicles and memorabilia from the construction of the highway is nothing short of amazing. Every detail of our stays exceeded expectations, that's multiple stays because the owner and crew has been fantastic hosts on each visit. Evening gatherings around the community fire introduced people to one another. Stories were shared about their favorite places to visit and the whole thing was lead by the owner. These reviews bothered me enough that I had to inject my two cents. We feel that NOT stopping at Discovery Yukon Lodgings is like missing one of the best parts of the trip. All too often we fail to review businesses unless something went wrong; that can happen. When you see how much work has and continues to go into these roadside lodgings, especially these that are off the energy grid and have to produce their own electricity you will be amazed at the quality of the service and the cleanliness of the facilities. This is a MUST SEE stop and I personally recommend it to everyone.

The best kept secret in Kenai. If you really want a feel for the local flair I suggest that you give Veronica's a try. There is often live music and home made soups and sandwiches that are guaranteed to keep you coming back for more.

Their picking it up in Kenai. We wee experiencing some lost mail last year but that issue was addressed and seems to have been corrected. Still wish they would move the rural box cluster back to it's original position closer to the main intersection.
