-Hotel far from strip and not in a safe neighbourhood (crack house down the street) we couldn't walk outside of it at all had to take a taxi everywhere - diner in hotel is only decent food option which is bad bc the food was so bad we ordered corn on a cobb - taxi staff push limos on you to get referral to get a kick back - renovations 24 hours - could not sleep -housekeeping never cleaned the room during our 4 day stay, had to call for towels everyday - lobby smelled horrible all the time - rooms were so dark we had to use flash-lights to get ready - safe in both rooms we had would break down everyday and batteries would pop out so our stuff kept getting stuck in there which meant we had to call security to come open it every day - nightclub at the bottom is full of younger kids - not classy ones either I believe the proper term to be used here is ratchets

Sucks ass it was the worst hotel i've been here yet service is bad and unresponsive. Can't even gamble when i have my teen kids far away off the gambling section. Pool closes at 7:00 Which is no fun at all and can't even bring my own beer. Cable didn't work either and i called for help with that anf it took about 45 minutes for them to come RIDICULOUS . Some people had a small party not even a party just like seven people host a private event taking up all of the pool section while they only take up the jacuzzi. So cant get in. Awful awful supposed to be sin city and party central but feels so strict here. I asked a lady that worked here where the ice machine was and she didnt even know. Really?!?! You call that service. WARNING DO NOT COME IF YOUR LOOKING FOR FUN!

I recently got the opportunity to stay at this hotel -Thanks to a dear friend who invited me to enjoy Memorial 2015 weekend in Vegas. This was not my first time visiting Vegas but this was the first time that I had the opportunity to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel. I arrived a day after my friend so I did not get to experience the check in process. On the day I arrived I did see that there was a steady long line at the check in desk. The hotel itself was quite large and several casino areas along with a few restaurants. The hotel is located about two lengthy blocks from the strip which would take about 10 -15 minutes to walk depending on how fast you are. The hotel was divided up into several different towers - we stayed in the paradise towers on the 5th floor. The rocker theme was evident throughout the hotel as well as the rooms. I was able to see most of the hotel because our tower was the farthest tower to get to. To access the hotel elevator you need always need to carry your key card because without it the elevator will not get you to your floor. During my stay I arrived many times to the elevator and found people waiting for someone with a card to get them access upstairs SMH. The room itself was also decorated with a obvious hard rock theme but it was very cozy. The beds were so plush and comfortable that it was difficult at times to get up. I could sleep all day in that bed. The view from our room was horrible but it was always quiet. The lighting in the room was not the best I must say because none of the lighting was bright. Also the darkening drapes did very little to keep out the morning light so sleeping late was difficult. One helpful aspect was that the phone could be used as a charging station which came in very handy but there were plenty of outlets for use. The bathroom area design was very annoying to me because the toilet was enclosed with the shower. The shower itself was fine as far as pressure and temperature. I also loved the double sinks because it made things convenient for two people staying in a room. Another thing that I did not appreciate about the room design was all of the snacks on display as well as the fridge full of drinks. The fridge would've been useful if it wasn't for the sensors that would cause your room to be automatically billed when touched. The snack display was also the same way - it took up a lot of space and you had to really avoid bumping or touching it in order to avoid automatic charges which I thought was stupid. Feel free to charge me if an item is missing but not if its just moved or touched! I thought the housekeeping services were pretty descent until we asked for extra wash cloths one day for our room. The housekeeper made it obvious that we were interrupting her or causing her some delay. She gave us the wash cloths but she literally threw them at us and then ran - yes you read right - ran back into the room she had been working in! We laugh so hard that we couldn't be pissed - maybe she was running late completing her duties. There is a daily resort fee that covers the wifi service, complimentary shuttle as well as other services. I was the one left to check out and it was hassle free. Your also given an option of having your final bill emailed or printed out for you. I would definitely return in the future just for those comfy beds.

I wanted to stay at this hotel during my convention in Las Vegas. Apparently some construction was under way (or so I was told) and that was the reason I could not get coffee in the morning. They do not have coffee in the rooms, nor do they have hair dryers. They did have a scale which I have never seen before in a motel or hotel. They surprised me with a $28/day "resort fee" which they tacked on my bill which I was not aware of when I made the reservation but found out about on check in. Even if you don't use the resort, you pay the fee.

Hadn't been here for 15 plus years. What I like is it's not the MegaPlex Casino's like the Venetian that are like small cities. The staff were friendly and helpful in my opinion. It's off the strip and they make you walk to get their shuttle. It's crowded and has one drop spot. They don't cater to shuttle riders to the strip and they let you know it's just an annoyance. I never saw anyone winning anything. The rooms are dated and the TV outdated. The internet connection/WiFi sucked so badly. Horrible. Starbucks is 10X better. I know they want people out and about to spend money, but with crappy channels and no Internet worth a damn...just feels like they're punishing you for being in your room. Pools are hot and not refreshing in the summer heat - no wonder those ClubRehab kids get so drunk and unruly in that heat - at least if you're on the River you can dunk in and cool off. Jump in the 90 degree water of these pools and get out into 110 degrees,,,,you're going to be irritable. With all the money they make, they can't have one pool that is cooled down? If you're trying to do any business on their WiFi - your boss is going to kick your ass when you get home. Lots of overpriced cheesy wannabe rock stuff. Lots and lots of Hookers (got hit up 3X at 8am) If that's your thing, you'll find a wide selection to choose from. Not my thing. Vegas is a worldwide destination and they know people from other parts of the world sometimes don't know they're being BONED. It's in the food, the drinks, everything. Not just HR it's pervasive all along the strip. That's the Vegas of today. Destination SHEEP!

Edit : manager called me from HRH and straightened out everything, totally satisfied now. In the past, this place has taken good care of us. We gamble a LOT so we get comp rooms on the strip and at the hard rock. During my trip to las vegas during the World Series of Poker, i had an offer of 5 comp rooms for the hard rock. I called and the people on the phone were very nice, so i offered money to upgrade our comp rooms to a suite.. which the person agreed. Upon arriving, i was disappointed to find our HRH suite was no nicer than the standard rooms that we were comped. The standard rooms even had an open air balcony type thing overlooking the rehab pool party, where the HRH suite had no fridge, no opening windows, etc. A light was burned out in our room, the ice machine on our floor was broken, and the phone didnt work.. plus no fridge no open window, so i decided to walk down to the front desk and see if we could switch into our previously offered comp rooms. The suite simply wasn't worth it, and I had nicer comp rooms already at hotels on the strip. The front desk person said, my rooms were completely comped and that i didnt have to switch rooms, that maintenance would take care of the issues and i could keep my suite free of charge. Great. Later that day i wanted to double check this, so i returned and asked again what i was paying for the room, and they again told me zero charge...... this was all good until checkout... Ill explain that later. We had a decent time at the hard rock... a waiter in the culinary dropout was pretty bad and im pretty sure he was feeling me out to sell me drugs, but whatever... its vegas. The hostess at the pink taco made my wife and I upset one night because we wanted to get takeout, and she told me it would be over an hour unless i wanted to eat there i could get served immediately... I explained, why can't you just serve me the food and i can put it into a box and walk away... it didn't make sense to her... so we ended up grabbing something quick at Mr Lucky's. The real problems happened at checkout. They offered me a 25 dollar per day food credit, which they never applied to my bill... but i was SHOCKED when i saw over 400 dollars worth of 'room upgrade and resort fees'. Not only did they charge me the full 'upgrade to suite' charge, but they also charge random fees between 30.01 and 75.01 as 'resort fees'. My checkout amount was over 1300! I was nice and smiling and asked to speak to a manager. They had me walk to the other part of the Casino and i spoke to a woman manager who offered to take 120 off. I told her my story but she didnt want to hear it, she suggested that unless i had a 'casino host' i couldnt be reimbursed for my rooms. She admitted that it was the casino's mistake for telling me that i had comp rooms, because the suite upgrade system was different than the hotel checkin system. Although she admitted fault, she told me there was no way she was dropping anything additional off of the bill, and I would have to dispute it with my credit card. I felt cheated and scammed by their misleading offers. The money i saved from the rooms, I had already pumped into their slot machines and table games as a 'feel like I owe them one'... now i was charged anyways.

$38 for a hotel room? Totally reasonable and completely fun!! Plus they upgraded us to a ginormous suite. What a fun experience!
