Terrible, terrible, terrible! Let me preface this with the fact that my wife and I do not go out to eat much, but when we do it's for a special occasion. We had purchased a Groupon for $39.95 for two individual entrees and two salads; not a bad deal for the Melting Pot, I thought. Making reservations was easy enough: Friday @ 7:00 P.M. We get there at 6:50 to check in, and we told to wait at the bar's lounge until we were called. Now usually when I sit at a bar, I am almost immediately asked, "What are you having?" Not the case at The Melting Pot-Naperville! We were never greeted by the two bartenders, nor offered to purchase anything, or even a water while we waited; nope, just backs turned the entire time. I knew this was going to go downhill after this. Our table was called, and we were seated. The hostess was nice enough, but it took anywhere from 5-10 minutes for our waitress (Gabby) to show. It is now 7:10, and we just are ordering water and our meal. Here's the kicker: the Groupon specifically states that we can get any entree that we want. But oh ho ho, we tell them we have a Groupon and we must choose the "you pick 3" dinner, at a $20 value, with $5 salads (hmmmm only a $50 promo value on a paid value of $40--how convenient!) My wife orders a cocktail with dinner. 7:30, and we finally get our skimpy salad, but no cocktail. 7:40 and my wife's cocktail arrives. Two waiters fill my glass, but never my wife's which is equally empty. 8:00 and the raw meat is here for us to cook in a boiling pot of veggie broth. The cooking was pretty simple, but after all was said and done it just wasn't worth it for the money and time. We get the bill, and the waitress has billed us for the entire Groupon promo value ($67.96, along with the tax according to that amount). However, our running total if we hadn't used the Groupon would have been....$50. I had never been in a Melting Pot, though I had heard about them since I was a kid. However, I will never come to one again. With the Groupon, tax, tip & cocktail included: $63. Not bad you might say; well, we didn't get the full use of the Groupon. Definitely a bait and switch. We left at 8:40; I will never get that hour and forty minutes of my life back. We will just be sticking with Panera from now on, where you can get a meal within 10 minutes at a reasonable cost.

Always a pleasant cozy dining experience. Servers are pleasant and the fondue concept makes dining a fun, interactive experience. Prices are on the higher side, but it is still worth it.

Went to the Melting Pot to try something new and was completely underwhelmed. It was close to a $100 dollars for two people to eat with their 3-course meal "special". The meal came with chicken, steak, and seafood along with a variety of dipping sauces. The "sauces" were actually coating for the meat. See, they bring you a plate or RAW food and then you have to cook it in the fondue pot full of oil. Since all of the food requires different cook times, your dining experience is spent making sure you do not under cook or burn your food instead of talking with your party. For a 100 bucks, I should receive some cooked food, right? In all fairness, the appetizers of bread, vegetables, and fondue cheese (probably what everyone thinks of when they hear fondue) was very good. The dessert we had was excellent too. Bring a date here to grab dessert before a movie but skip having a meal; you will get better food at a much much cheaper place.

I had made reservations for new years and was unaware that they had a special menu for that night. The problem was is that they were serving mostly shell fish, but my wife or I eat shell fish. Our waitress was really rude about the situation so I asked for the manager. The manager went above and beyond for us and made our night by pretty much serving us our choice of food. What a great manager!!!! Great food and I had a really good time..

A group of us went here in December for my girlfriends Birthday and we all hated it. Terrible service, terrible food, way over priced! I can get a better steak at applebeas. For the price you pay your would think your at Ruth Chris. For 40 bucks I would like my food grilled not boiled.

When we entered the restaurant, the atmosphere was nice and the wait staff was extremely attentive. There is an unwritten dress code, so it would be best to dress up to receive the best service. Our waiter Brandon was wonderful and extremely amusing. He gives excellent advice on the menu items and even made the bananas foster fondue sparkle! The cheese fondue was delicious, especially the spinach artichoke. I would also the teriyaki beef. For dessert, the Snickers option was amazing and they even offer unlimited strawberries. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the experience. The only downside was they did not list prices for drinks. Also, expect to spend a little more than your average restaurant, but it is definitely worth it. You'll also spend a lot of time there, but the staff is entertaining and it's a fun night out with friends.
