The Work at Home Wife says Barefoot Books is one of the best kid-friendly business ideas for work at home moms!
There are so many awesome home business options available that are not only kid-friendly, but might also get the kids involved and nurture that entrepreneurial spirit.

Inventing a life worth living...
Introduction
In the summer of 2007, I turned 40 and decided that I could officially call myself a grown up - so I had better figure out what I wanted to do with my life! I've been busy ever since inventing a life worth living.

So far that includes becoming a single mother through adoption - my daughter is from Ethiopia - and starting a business to sell my fine art photography.  I'm still trying to figure out what else I want to do with the rest of my life, and I write about it on my blog: Inventing My Life.
