The Truth about the Trump and Putin Summit
Over the past several weeks the media has been extreme
in their attacks on President Trump for what I feel is no good reason.   It’s frustrating for me as an American to
read half-truths and uniformed information from what was once a trusted source.
I now o...

Story #9: Father from Native Dad’s Network
I appreciate the program and the work that Albert Pooley has generated in sharing the teachings and providing an awesome foundation for our fathers and for our families. It’s just such an impactful program. I see the changes in our community with the fathers with the Fatherhood is Sacred™ here and how it has uplifted the men and their families that have been a part of this program. Of course, with this leadership of our facilitator, I’m just so proud to be associated with the organization and to experience it. I look forward to sharing the teachings of this program that lay a foundation from which we can make those positive changes in our communities as fathers and uncles, as grandpas and build on the relationships that have for a long time been shattered and missing. I’m just proud to say that now as a California Native, I’ve had the opportunity to learn from this awesome program and to continue to share and experience those positive changes that I’ve seen happening in our community. We have a lot of work to do, but I think with this program, the outcomes are looking pretty good.

Story #7 from a Mother: Motherhood is Sacred™ program
I am 36 years old. I gave birth to 8 children. I am now a mother of 2. I’ve lost 6 kids behind my bad choices in life. I had my first daughter when I was 17. I gave birth to her. I delivered her myself when I was 17. I didn’t know no better. I had to give her up because I was on drugs. I delivered my first 6 children addicted to drugs. I got pregnant with my 7th and I was facing 11 years in prison. I changed my life for him because he was my last chance to do it right. TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) introduced me to Motherhood/Fatherhood program and it’s heling me. You know, there’s a lot of stuff I didn’t know about Native Americans. I’m Native American but I grew up in a Mexican community. All my kids’ fathers are Mexican or rough gang members. It’s really cool being Native American. There’s a lot of advantages and opportunities. I had 16 years of drug use and 5 years clean and sober now. I have two babies that are in my care that mean the world to me. They mean the whole world to me. I’m here to do the Motherhood/Fatherhood program to help me be a parent because I lost my other children. To help me raise my kids right without yelling or screaming or touching them. You know all the stuff that I was raised with cause I was raised by my mother and all my aunts and uncles and it was kind of rough. But I just want to learn how to be a great mother and how to teach them our cultural ways.

Story #5 from a father: Fatherhood is Sacred™ Program:
I’m a father of 3 children. I’m also involved with the group since it first started off and now I’ve been involved with it a lot more. The program has really done a lot for me. It’s taught me how to be a father. It really gave me a big support group with all my brothers in the program and taught me about unity and about strength. I grew up and my dad was always there for me. This program actually brought our relationship closer. It also brought my relationship closer with my children. That’s something that’s very important to me. Also just being an example for the community and for my people. For my family, my relatives, my friends.
One thing that I learned is that fatherhood is sacred and that’s something that I hold dearly to my heart. I’m honored to be a part of this program and I look forward to what it brings in the future. My children are even getting involved. I bring them with me to group and they’ll be learning about the drum and they’ll be learning about the sage and about different things that we do in the group. They’ll be making friends with some of the other brothers’ children in the group. It’s a really good thing. It’s been a really good thing for me and my whole family so I’m really grateful for that. I just look forward to what it brings in the future and I’m looking forward to continuing to be a part of it.
