Biblical Basis: Colossians 3:23 "In all the work you are doing, work the best you can. Work as if you are doing it for the Lord, not for people."
Have you heard of the saying,'when the cat is away, the mouse will play'? Sounds familiar huh?! Well, this cliche is commonly found in our workplace. How faithful are you in doing you task/job... Ooppss! the question doesn't end there, ...when your boss is not around, when you're alone in your office and nobody is around to check on you? Guilty beyond reasonable doubt aren't we? Well, personally I am, but you know what, God corrected me. God reminded me of this verse (Colossians 3:23). We should not only be faithful when somebody is watching. But we need to be faithful ALL THE TIME!!!
Doing our best for the Lord is the key to glorifying God in our workplaces. Let us not be mediocre in what we are doing. Let us do our best as if we are doing it for the Lord. Let us not be contented with average quality of work. Is it not that when we apply to jobs, we make sure that our application letters would be attractive and eye catcher, stating all our qualifications and our skills and our HIGH-QUALITY PERFORMANCES? Let's reflect on how we are doing these past days, weeks, months, on how we have been doing, especially when no one is around watching.
God deserves our HIGH-QUALITY PERFORMANCES. Let's change our attitude. Let us ask God to change our mindset that we only work fast and at our best when our boss is around to gain appreciation and praise.
"In all the work we are doing, let us do it for the Lord."
Whether someone is watching you or not, do the same quality of work, the same dedication and at our best.
